WESTERN REGION WESTERN REGION This month in the Emerald Office we have very busy with lots of exciting events going on. EMERALD First the Emerald Office has been very lucky in having two new staff members join the team, Kay Guascoine is our new Family Day Care Coordinator and Wendee McLean our Temp Administration Officer. For the month of May our programs have been very busy, The Central Highlands Family Day Care Scheme attend the under 8‟s day, Our YSC attend school camps and the healthy mind program held there first social group in the Gemfields. The RIAS Program had exciting news that they are receiving new properties to help that effect from the floods. We had three major achievements this month for the Emerald Office. A big pat on the back goes to Pam White for her amazing effects at Y Carnival and all the hard work that went into Youth Week Congratulations to Hayley Gardner for successfully completing her abseiling course and also for holding the 2 nd Momentum Youth Camp well done Hayley. 26
WESTERN REGION EMERALD KEEPING THE MOMENTUM GOING Well it was that time again for the Momentum Youth Camp and what better a way to connect and clear your head then with a weekend filled with fun and adventure at Camp Fairbairn Dam. With a massive build up to the camp with a youth leadership day and also national youth week we were all ready for the next camp. The camp hit off at 5pm pm Friday the 13 th of May with a game of touch football and some cricket. Attending the camp we had 13 young people from around the central highlands in years 10 - 12. The first night was a hit with a massive camp fire along with some rather interesting stories that had some campers on the edge of the seat. This was a great night that was able to being all campers together and to start building new friendships. 27
