Yes. Beginning in March 2012, cards for children that get Medicaid dental services will have the
name of the dental plan printed on the front.

their Your Texas Benefits Medicaid cards or medical or dental plan ID cards, providers can
still verify their eligibility using the patient control number (PCN) or patient name and date
of birth.
• Texas Health Steps checkup information lets providers know if patients (and their Medicaidqualified
family members) are due for medical and / or dental checkups.

Yes! Look for the following Medicaid patient information to be added in 2012:
• Prescription drug history.
• Immunization history.
• Dental history.

Can I print out a patient’s visit history
Yes. Visit history comes from Medicaid claims data that is stored in the system. The report can
be printed any time the provider needs a paper record.

Can I use YourTexasBenefitsCard.com to share a patient’s Medicaid health history
with other providers
• Not at this time. Direct provider-to-provider communication and sharing will be available
in the future. In the meantime, doctors and other approved Medicaid providers can use
YourTexasBenefitsCard.com to view a patient’s health history generated from Medicaid
claims records—unless the patient has opted out of medical information sharing.
• Patients can “opt out” of sharing their Medicaid health information by calling
1-877-518-0899 or online at www.YourTexasBenefits.com.
Can I print out a patient’s visit history
Yes – if you use the YourTexasBenefitsCard.com website to check patients in when they visit
your office. The system stores visit history information for all patients at the time they check in.
Providers can view, download, or print the history for one patient or a list of patients.

(1-877-THSteps) or they can use the Provider Lookup at TMHP.com. Click on the red “Provider
