course which starts on February 19, 2013<br />
This course is for beginners who are interested in <strong>Japan</strong>ese language and culture. Communicative language<br />
activities are provided and used within the context of <strong>Japan</strong>ese settings, such as - traveling, shopping etc. You will<br />
be able to speak simple <strong>Japan</strong>ese right away. Reading and writing of <strong>Japan</strong>ese characters will not be taken in the<br />
course.<br />

At the end of the course, learners will be able to :<br />
1. Understand and use familiar every day expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of<br />
needs of a concrete type, such as - how to get to a destination, how to do some shopping.<br />
2. Ask and answer questions about personal details such as one’s hobby and schedule.<br />
3. Express one’s feelings and preferences.<br />
4. Interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.<br />

Application Procedure:<br />
<strong>The</strong> application form can be accessed from the JFM website (http://www.jfmo.org.ph)<br />
* For those who have taken MARUGOTO: <strong>Japan</strong>ese Language & Culture, MODULE 1 course, submit the<br />
application form together with the payment on or before the deadline, February 18, 2013 (Monday) to the<br />
<strong>Japan</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong>, <strong>Manila</strong>.<br />
* For those who have not taken MARUGOTO: <strong>Japan</strong>ese Language & Culture, MODULE 1 course, there will be<br />
a qualifying level check test and interview scheduled on Feb. 14 (Thurs.) and Feb. 15 (Fri.), anytime from<br />
2:00 p.m. ~ 6:00 p.m. Applicants must submit the application form by email or fax by Feb. 13 (Wed.) and come<br />
to the <strong>Japan</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong>, <strong>Manila</strong> for the level check test on either of the specified schedule. Level check test &<br />
interview will take about one hour.<br />
First come first served basis.<br />
Minimum number of participants required for the conduct of the course: at least 10 enrollees.<br />
