The rupee appreciation has been one factor and the second is that
the money spent on advertisement in the quarter is lower while the
numbers of subscribers acquired are higher and hence the average
SAC is lower.
Sir, can you give me the split between the cost of CPE and
commission and marketing in this 2383
Around Rs. 1700 is attributable to hardware and the balance is
selling & distribution and advertisement
And sir, what do you think would be the impact on the subscriber
acquisition cost and the ARPUs given the subscriber growth due to
the quantum of sporting events next year
One good thing which has happened in the industry last year is that
nobody has acquired subscribers at the basic pack (Rs.125) and
everybody has moved from Rs.150 to Rs.200 for customer
acquisition. In Dish TV also we had made our basic silver pack as
a doormat pack in the month of March itself. The upside is that the
subscription revenue and ARPU etc. will go up. And if you
consider the last two years, the category acquired 6-7 million and
8.5 million subscribers respectively, on an average. We will not be
surprised if it is 11 million this year.
