<strong>Cultural</strong> identities from <strong>the</strong> bottom up – labour relations perspective<br />
and called for a more profound “modernization of <strong>the</strong> culture sector”. Torn between<br />
<strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>terests of wage workers and <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>terests of <strong>the</strong> capitalist class, authors may have<br />
a significant role <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> mak<strong>in</strong>g of a new society, a new type of capitalist society which<br />
<strong>in</strong>tends to subject all social relations to capitalist production. In order to ga<strong>in</strong> a more<br />
propulsive social role for <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>telligentsia, <strong>the</strong>y would first need to carry out a radical<br />
reform of <strong>the</strong> cultural system and f<strong>in</strong>d a new way of <strong>in</strong>tegrat<strong>in</strong>g authors as labour force<br />
<strong>in</strong>to cultural and science production.<br />
