The Village<br />
The Village, located in<br />
<strong>UC</strong>SC’s Lower Quarry on<br />
the east side of campus,<br />
is a unique community<br />
for junior and senior<br />
continuing, transfer, and<br />
re-entry students, as well<br />
as graduate students. The<br />
site, adjacent to the Farm and Garden, is in the heart<br />
of the Great Meadow. Existing redwoods, native grasses<br />
and other trees have been preserved as part of the natural<br />
landscape.<br />
• Each house features nine single rooms, three<br />
bathrooms, and one kitchenette<br />
• A spacious community building includes kitchen<br />
stations and dining area<br />
• TV lounge/common area for community events<br />
• Meal plan optional<br />
University Town Center<br />
The University Town<br />
Center (UTC), located<br />
at 1101 Pacific Avenue<br />
(on the corner of Pacific<br />
and Cathcart streets in<br />
downtown <strong>Santa</strong> <strong>Cruz</strong>),<br />
houses students amidst<br />
all that downtown has to<br />
offer, including cafés, restaurants, shops, museum, movie<br />
theaters, library and more! Continuing, transfer, reentry,<br />
and graduate students are eligible to live here.<br />
• Residents enjoy two- and three-person studio<br />
apartments with private bathrooms and kitchenettes.<br />
• Meal plan optional<br />
• The fourth floor lounge features a large-screen TV, as<br />
well as a full kitchen, with oven and dishwasher for<br />
community events.<br />
• Fifth floor lounge has computer and study areas<br />
• Walk, bike or shuttle to classes, libraries, labs and<br />
recreation<br />
• Close and convenient access to the East Field<br />
recreation and sports facilities<br />
