In 2011, we completed One, our three-year Company program.<br />

One achieved all of its objectives and was a great success for our<br />

Company. The Supervisory Board wants to take this opportunity<br />

to thank the Management Board and all of <strong>Schneider</strong> <strong>Electric</strong>’s<br />

teams for this tremendous accomplishment. One has transformed<br />

<strong>Schneider</strong> <strong>Electric</strong> and put us in a position to reap the full benefi ts<br />

of globalization, growth in new economies and the enormous need<br />

for energy effi ciency solutions.<br />

The energy that costs and pollutes the least is the energy we save.<br />

<strong>Schneider</strong> <strong>Electric</strong> helps its customers use less energy. We have<br />

the good fortune and foresight to be very well positioned in energy<br />

effi ciency markets all around the world. Our products, equipment<br />

and solutions are on the leading-edge of technology and our R&D<br />

investments illustrate our strategy of continuing to offer to our<br />

customers the best-in-class lineup to meet their needs. Our good<br />

short-term business performance allows us to implement a longterm<br />

strategy.<br />

Your Supervisory Board will continue to advise and supervise<br />

the Management Board. The Supervisory Board operates in a<br />

completely transparent manner, in a friendly atmosphere where<br />

discussion and the confrontation of ideas are welcomed.<br />

In measuring team performance and related bonuses, business and<br />

fi nancial criteria are not the only factor. Sustainable development<br />

and corporate social responsibility are also taken into account using<br />

a dedicated resource known as the Planet & Society Barometer.<br />

This tool helps our people to feel responsible of this part of our<br />

performance: measurement drives behaviour. Meeting targets in<br />

these non-fi nancial areas are part of the bonus system for both<br />

employees and senior executives.<br />

After implementing a successful succession at the Chief Executive<br />

level, your Supervisory Board is now working on the succession of<br />

its Chairman and on an appropriate governance.<br />

The Supervisory Board would like to once again express its<br />

confi dence in the teams that are responsible for the implementation<br />

of our new Company program, <strong>Connect</strong>. We fully support this<br />

program, which should be another major milestone in <strong>Schneider</strong><br />

<strong>Electric</strong>’s development.
