Solos-Band<br />

All Solo/Small Ensemble performances must be a minimum of 2 1/2 minutes in length<br />

(All band solos have a maximum time limit of 5 minutes)<br />

Clarinet Family Solos: Includes only Bb, Eb, Alto, Bass and Contra-Bass/Alto Clarinets<br />

Saxophone Family Solos: Includes only Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone Saxophones<br />

Flute Family Solos: Includes only members of the flute family<br />

Double Reed Family Solos: Includes only Oboe, Bassoon and English Horn<br />

<strong>High</strong> Brass Family Solos: Includes only Cornets, Trumpets, Flugelhorns and French Horn<br />

Low Brass Family Solos: Includes only Trombones, Euphoniums and Tubas<br />

Percussion Family Solos: Includes only Snare Drum, Tympani, Keyboard, Steel Drum<br />

and Multiple Percussion<br />

instant feedback tools, and more than 30,000 accompaniments. Smart<strong>Music</strong>’s exclusive<br />

Intelligent Accompaniment follows the student’s spontaneous tempo changes like a good human<br />

accompanist, allowing the student to be free to express him or herself.<br />

Requirements:<br />

• <strong>School</strong>s may use Smart<strong>Music</strong> Accompaniments for the IHSMA Solo/Small Ensemble<br />

festival;<br />

• <strong>School</strong>s must provide own equipment and operator;<br />

• Events must stay within established time schedule;<br />

• In the event of an equipment problem, the event may retire and reappear later.<br />
