Species-groups can be used to allow mass distributions <strong>of</strong> particles to be source-specific. In the example<br />

This allows each size to be modeled separ<strong>at</strong>ely, each with its own mass emission r<strong>at</strong>e and deposition<br />

velocity. Several sources in the run could have been given different emission r<strong>at</strong>es for these "species",<br />

thereby producing unique mass distributions for their particul<strong>at</strong>e emissions. Prior to reporting any<br />

concentr<strong>at</strong>ions or deposition fluxes for these individual "species", however, they must be summed to<br />

provide the total particul<strong>at</strong>e concentr<strong>at</strong>ion or deposition flux. This is done through "grouping":<br />
