CALMET accepts d<strong>at</strong>a for a number <strong>of</strong> 'surface meteorology st<strong>at</strong>ions'<br />

in a single SURF.DAT file. SMERGE cre<strong>at</strong>es this file from several<br />

single-st<strong>at</strong>ion files <strong>of</strong> hourly d<strong>at</strong>a. Use SMERGE one or more times<br />

to build the SURF.DAT file.<br />

MXFF is set in PARAMS.SMG, which is compiled into SMERGE.EXE.<br />

Enter NFF 4-line groups identifying the file name (SFCMET), the<br />

st<strong>at</strong>ion number (IFSTN), the st<strong>at</strong>ion elev<strong>at</strong>ion (optional) in meters<br />

(XELEV), and the time zone <strong>of</strong> the d<strong>at</strong>a (ASTZ) for each file,<br />

followed by a group termin<strong>at</strong>or.<br />
