CFast – the new memory card standard is available
DELOCK CFAST Highlights
and presents the new generation of Compact Flash memory cards with
a SATA 3Gb/s interface
What is CFast
CFast is the new memory card standard of the "Compact Flash Association". It presents the latest
generation of Compact Flash memory cards with a SATA 3 Gb/s - interface.
What is the difference
between CFast and
Compact Flash
CFast Flash Card type I
• Chip: Samsung MLC
• SATA controller
• SATA 7+17pin interface
• Operating voltage 3.3V +/- 5%
• Data transfer rate: 1.5 / 3.0 Gbps SATA
• 96 MB/s read, 45 MB/s write
2.5 Card Reader SATA to CFast
• For internal installation into your PC
• Connection to the internal SATA port
• Supports CFast type I memory cards up to 64 GB
• 22 pin SATA data - and power connection (male) on board
• Bootable
• Dimension (LxWxH): 95 mm x 70 mm x 9,4 mm
• Windows ME/2000/XP/XP-64/Vista/Vista-64/7/7-64,
• Mac OS ex 10.1.3, Linux ex 10.2
... In short:
Same form factor,
different interface
CFast combines 2 industrial standards: the
Compact Flash form factor and the fast
Serial ATA interface.
Due to the different interfaces, both
memory cards are not compatible.
Hence CFast requires new CFast
compatible devices.
Performance-comparison
CFast
How fast is CFast
Compared to common Compact Flash
(CF)-cards the CFast memory card offers
a considerably higher data transfer rate.
While the PATA-standard (common CFcard)
can reach only a maximum data
transfer rate of 133 MB/s and is
therefore not suitable for new SATA
drives with higher storage density, SATA
3 Gb/s can reach a data transfer rate of
up to 300 MB/s. That complies with the
theoretical maximum transfer rate of
CFast according to the specification.
