Kura Tuarua ä Motu 2008 G<br />
<strong>Te</strong> Piringa, from Manawatu/<br />
Horowhenua, won <strong>the</strong> overall<br />
aggregate title at <strong>the</strong> National<br />
Secondary Schools Kapa Haka<br />
Competition held at Wellington’s<br />

25 June – CNI Iwi Collective<br />
Deed Signing H<br />
Representatives from seven iwi<br />
travelled to Wellington to sign a<br />
deed of settlement settling <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
interests in Central North Island<br />
Forestry assets and surrounding<br />
land. The seven iwi were Ngäi<br />
Tühoe, Ngäti Tüwharetoa, Ngäti<br />
Whakaue, Ngäti Whare, Ngäti<br />
Manawa, Ngäti Raukawa and<br />
<strong>the</strong> Affiliate <strong>Te</strong> Arawa iwi and<br />
hapü.<br />

a nationwide celebration of New<br />
Zealand’s official indigenous<br />

interface was launched and<br />
