7.7 To continue supporting the territory-wide campaign against youth
drug abuse, “No Drugs, No Regrets. Not Now, Not Ever” was adopted as the
third theme of the 2009-10 campaign.
7.8 The campaign, launched in June 2009, covered a television API and
a complementing radio API on the theme of “Beware of Burglaries”. The
television API was also uploaded onto the home pages of the ISD and the HKPF.
To further publicise the message, a poster was produced for display at MTR
stations and as bus body advertisement.
7.9 Noting that youths were vulnerable to crimes arising from on-line
activities, the Publicity Sub-Committee organised a video competition on the
theme of “Protect Yourself from Crime and Predators On-line” among primary
and secondary schools to enhance the vigilance of students against such crimes.
A television API and a complementing radio API, based on the creative ideas of
the winning video, were produced and launched in December 2009. The
television API was uploaded onto the home pages of the ISD and the HKPF and
was broadcast on various outdoor electronic media and Internet platforms. For
the theme of “No Drugs, No Regrets. Not Now, Not Ever”, the Publicity Sub-
Committee also arranged bus body advertising to disseminate the anti-drug
message.
7.10 At the district level, the Police continued to cooperate with the
DFCCs and the Junior Police Call in organising fight crime activities in support
of the territory-wide Fight Crime Publicity Campaign, in particular on the antidrug
theme, to help disseminate the messages extensively to different sectors of
the community.
