Visualize <strong>the</strong> Three Rounds of Overwhelming:<br />

The Overwhelming of Place<br />

The place you are in is pressed down and filled by your own body which instantly becomes a<br />

crystal stupa as big as a mountain. With this image in mind, loudly say:<br />

The Overwhelming of Gods and Ghosts<br />

PHAT<br />

Visualize that your breath goes out through both nostrils to pervade all worldly realms, rounding<br />

up all <strong>the</strong> gods and ghosts who settle around you. Wrathful <strong>Ma</strong>chig and her assembly of Devas<br />

arise from your heart. The gods and ghosts are surrounded by <strong>the</strong> Devas and cannot leave. Then<br />

loudly say:<br />

The Overwhelming of Self<br />

Send your breath out through both nostrils and think that your mind and space become one and<br />

indivisible. Then loudly say:<br />

PHAT<br />

Visualize <strong>the</strong> following while playing <strong>the</strong> Kang Ling:<br />

First blow <strong>the</strong> kang-ling longer and smoothly. Think that you are calling out and saying:<br />

'oh worldly gods and ghosts'<br />

The second time, blow <strong>the</strong> kang-ling <strong>for</strong> a longer time and change <strong>the</strong> tone in middle once<br />

(gyur cig). Think that you are asking <strong>the</strong> worldly gods and ghosts to ga<strong>the</strong>r here.<br />

The third time, blow <strong>the</strong> kang-ling <strong>for</strong> a longer time and change <strong>the</strong> tone in <strong>the</strong> middle two times.<br />

Think that you are asking <strong>the</strong> worldly gods and ghosts to ga<strong>the</strong>r and assemble here.<br />

After doing all three of <strong>the</strong>se kang-ling visualisations, say with a long sound:<br />

PHAT<br />

All Mo<strong>the</strong>r sentient beings pervading space take<br />

refuge in <strong>the</strong> three highest objects of refuge with<br />

reverence. I generate Bodhicitta in order to liberate<br />

all sentient beings from <strong>the</strong> ocean of samsara.<br />

PHAT<br />

Chen-dzin-gyi pung-bo drar lang te<br />

Dra yin-par ma-go ma-rig drib<br />

Tog-me-ne sug-pung drang-me lang<br />

Lü dön-me dor-wa dön-re chung<br />

Dü-da-len mi lü len chig-di<br />

Lü chö she yö-wa kön-chog kyen<br />

PHAT<br />

Clinging to <strong>the</strong> aggregates is my enemy.<br />

Because I did not understand it as being <strong>the</strong> enemy,<br />

obscured by ignorance and since beginningless time<br />

I received countless aggregates, but my bodies have<br />

been wasted without reason and I have never<br />

achieved any meaning.<br />

This time I have a human body.<br />

Please pay attention to <strong>the</strong> rare and high<br />

compassionate Buddhas and accept this body as an<br />

offering.<br />

Rang-dün-gyi nam-kar tsog-shing tso<br />

La-ma dang yer-me Lab-drön shug<br />

Visualising Channels, Body and Consciousness<br />

Ejecting Consciousness through <strong>the</strong> Central Channel<br />

Rang-rig-pa Lab-drön tug-kar po<br />

Bem-po-de ling-gyi gyel-war-gyur<br />

PHAT<br />

Labkyi Dronma, inseparable from my sublime<br />

guru,and who is <strong>the</strong> principal of <strong>the</strong> field of merit,<br />

appears in <strong>the</strong> space in front of me.<br />

PHAT<br />

This body is white, big, splendid, beautiful,<br />

attractive and shining. My mind is a white and<br />

shining thig-le located inside of <strong>the</strong> central channel<br />

which is running straight through my body.<br />

PHAT<br />

My mind dissolves into <strong>the</strong> heart of <strong>Ma</strong>chig<br />

Labdrön<br />

My ordinary body falls down completely.<br />

Rang-rig-pa Dor-je Nel-jor-ma<br />

Lab-drön-gyi tug-ka-ne tön kö<br />

My mind comes down from <strong>Ma</strong>chig's heart as<br />

Pung nying-gi pag-pa shü ne tram<br />

Sha rü trag dang nyig so-sor-che<br />

Rang-tö-pa gye-sum kar shag ne<br />

Le ku trag dü-tsiy gyam-tsor kye<br />

Inviting <strong>the</strong> Objects of <strong>the</strong> Offering<br />

PHAT<br />

Gong shug-kyi lha-nam char shin jön<br />

<strong>Ma</strong>r dron-nam na bun shin-du dü<br />

PHAT<br />

My old body is skinned and <strong>the</strong> skin stretched out<br />

Flesh, blood and refined and coarse parts of <strong>the</strong> body<br />

are separated. The brains,juices and blood become an<br />

ocean of nectars and are placed into a severed<br />

upturned skull sitting on a tripod of three human<br />

heads.<br />

OM AH HUM HA HO HRIH<br />

PHAT<br />

Deities above come down like rain. Guests from<br />

below ga<strong>the</strong>r like a billowing black cloud.<br />

Offering <strong>the</strong> White Distribution<br />

Tsa gyü-kyi la-ma yi-dam dang<br />

Pa-wo dang khan-dro chö-srung chö<br />

Rig-drug dang ne-dön lü-don dang<br />

Geg-reg dang len-chag kun-la bül<br />

Gyel-wa-nam chö nye chö-srung kang<br />

Rig-drug-kün dug shi len-chag jang<br />

PHAT<br />

I offer this nectar to <strong>the</strong> root and lineage Gurus,<br />

Yidams, Heroes, Dakinis and Dharma Protectors.<br />

I offer this nectar also to all sentient beings of <strong>the</strong> six<br />

realms, Don (Demons) of place and Döns of <strong>the</strong> body,<br />

and different kinds of interferers and o<strong>the</strong>r guests to<br />

whom I am karmically indebted.<br />

All of <strong>the</strong> Victors (Buddhas) are pleased by this<br />

offering and protectors are satisfied. Sufferings of <strong>the</strong><br />

six realms subside and karmic debts are purified.<br />

Offering <strong>the</strong> <strong>Ma</strong>nifold Distribution<br />

PHAT<br />

Kang tsil dang pag-pa gang-dö gyur<br />

Drön gong og me-pa nye-gyur-chig<br />

PHAT<br />

<strong>Ma</strong>rrow, fat and skin become whatever <strong>the</strong>se guests<br />

could wish <strong>for</strong>. All of <strong>the</strong> guests without division of<br />

<strong>the</strong> lower and higher ones enjoy this offering.<br />

Offering <strong>the</strong> Red distribution<br />

PHAT<br />

Sha rü-nam nam sa bar nang gang<br />

<strong>Ma</strong>r röl la wang-wey lhan-dre dü<br />

Nye-wa-nam gang-dö tsö-la sö<br />

Ring-wa-nam chi-dö jen-par kur<br />

Lhag-lü-pa me-pa sö shing kur<br />

Gam-gu shing tsim-ne rang-ne sheg<br />

PHAT<br />

The sky and <strong>the</strong> earth are filled with flesh and bone.<br />

Gods and ghosts who enjoy red meat, ga<strong>the</strong>r here.<br />

Those who are closer cook and eat and do whatever<br />

you wish with my body parts.<br />

Those who remain more distant take uncooked body<br />

parts and do whatever you wish with <strong>the</strong>m. Eat and<br />

take without leaving anything behind. Return to your<br />

own place with joy, contentment and satisfaction.<br />

Dissolving <strong>the</strong> Three Spheres of Giving into Emptiness<br />

The object of giving, <strong>the</strong> gift and <strong>the</strong> giver dissolve<br />

into clarity and voidness; <strong>the</strong> nature of Sunyata.<br />

PHAT<br />

The nature of all phenomena is that of dependent<br />

arising. Since beginningless time,<br />

I have been born countless times.<br />

I shall eradicate unwholesome Karmas<br />

of <strong>the</strong> past and dedicate all virtues<br />

<strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> sake of Buddhahood.<br />

The virtue of giving <strong>the</strong> body is <strong>the</strong> greatest. <strong>Ma</strong>y<br />

all beings obtain Buddhahood as soon as possible.<br />

Look at all compounded phenomena like stars, like<br />

nature of <strong>the</strong> sky at dawn, like butter lamps,<br />

illusions, dew, water-bubbles, dreams, lightening<br />

and clouds.<br />

The result of beneficial deeds is happiness.<br />

The result of harm is suffering.<br />

I take my own body as an example;<br />

I do not harm o<strong>the</strong>rs.<br />

The great giving covers everything.<br />

<strong>Ma</strong>y those beings who were not liberated by <strong>the</strong><br />

self-appearing Buddhas of <strong>the</strong> past<br />

be liberated now by my practice of giving.<br />

Sang-gye ku-sum nye-pey jin-lab dang<br />

Chö-nyi mi-gyur den-pey jin-lab dang<br />

Gen-dün mi-che dün-pey jin-lab-kyiy<br />

Ji-tar ngo-wa mön-lam drub-gyur-chig<br />

Through <strong>the</strong> blessing of <strong>the</strong> Buddhas who achieved<br />

three bodies<br />

and by <strong>the</strong> blessing of <strong>the</strong> truth<br />

of <strong>the</strong> unchangeable nature of Dharmata,<br />

and by <strong>the</strong> blessing of <strong>the</strong> united Sangha<br />

community,<br />

<strong>Ma</strong>y my wishes and dedications<br />

be achieved as I wish.<br />
