important today since the country is on the eve of conferring the legal right to food to all our people<br />
through the national food security act.”<br />
Foreword<br />
Inclusive growth and food security has become a subject of<br />
prime importance not only to India but for the world as a<br />
whole. To achieve these twin objectives, focused<br />
development of agriculture sector keeping farmers at the<br />
core is of paramount importance particularly for a populous<br />
country like India where it is also the largest livelihood<br />
provider for its rural population. It is imperative that farmer<br />
centric initiatives and policy framework need to be put in<br />
place to equip him with latest farming techniques,<br />
technologies and related enabling knowledge and support<br />
structure for higher production, productivity and better yield.<br />
<strong>Agrovision</strong> is one such genuine initiative, which is providing<br />
an integrative framework and a platform to bring all the stake<br />
holders consisting of farmers, government, NGOs,<br />
scientists, industry under single umbrella to deliberate,<br />
debate and develop policies and programmes for action at<br />
different levels for all around growth of agriculture.<br />
Under the guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Nitin Gadkari, the Chief<br />
Patron of <strong>Agrovision</strong> & National President BJP; MM Activ<br />
Sci-Tech Communications Pvt. Ltd. and Vidarbha Economic<br />
Development Council (VED) have been organizing<br />
<strong>Agrovision</strong> in Nagpur. Due to its unique combination of<br />
workshops, a full - fledged exhibition covering almost all<br />
segments related to agriculture and thought provoking, action<br />
oriented deliberations on topical issues related to bio energy,<br />
<strong>Agrovision</strong> has now become one of the biggest agro event in<br />
Central India. Farmers not only from Vidarbha, Maharashtra &<br />
adjoining states like Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra<br />
Pradesh but also from far away states like UP, Punjab,<br />
Haryana etc. visit <strong>Agrovision</strong> & benefit from interactive<br />
workshops.<br />
Agricultural sector in general and farmers in particular are<br />
facing lot of challenges. I am sure that the <strong>Agrovision</strong> will keep<br />
on enhancing its role in coming years to Educate, Encourage<br />
and Empower farmers to overcome these challenges. The<br />
upcoming editions of <strong>Agrovision</strong> each year will prove to be<br />
helpful for the overall growth of the agro-sector and improve<br />
the individual financial status of farmers.<br />
The <strong>Agrovision</strong> 2013 would be held from 24th to 27th<br />
January, 2013 in Nagpur, the city which has proved to be an<br />
ideal venue for an agro event in Central India.<br />
