Power harrow
Zirkon 10

LEMKEN Zirkon 10
The concept
Changing the rotation
The Zirkon 10 is suitable for highest long-term operational
demands both in conventional or minimum cultivation
systems. The heavy gauge underside of the trough and
the bearing spaces between rotors create outstanding
strength. LEMKEN offers this new power harrow in working
widths from three to six metres. For preparing ground
for a mulch system or working in especially hard
ground conditions the Zirkon 10 is operated with forward-sloping,
grade set tines. Following the plough or on
stony areas it is advantageous to use the tines in a drag
setting.
With the new Dual-Shift concept from LEMKEN the driving
gear can be simply moved 20 mm between two
stops after the loosening with a spindle of three bolts.
This reverses the direction of travel of the tines.
Additionally, the new Dual-Shift gear allows rapid and
simple alteration of tine rpm via a lever at the gear box.
Depending on lever position, 330 or 440 rpm can be
selected with tractor pto at 1000 rpm.

The new generation
The Dual-Shift gear
The quick-change system
The change of the rotation is achieved through the primary
drive of the Zirkon 10 no longer directly driving
rotor shafts but instead driving a cog wheel between two
rotor shafts. Through the sliding of this cog into a certain
position, either the right hand or the left hand rotor is
driven by the cog and therefore the desired direction of
travel activated.
Zirkon 10 includes new quick-change Allround knife tines
as standard. Each pair of tines is attached by a single
security pin. Changing tines requires no tools and is therefore
rapidly carried out. The attachment parts are
situated underneath the tine carrier so that the resultant
greater amount of free space between the tines together
with the smooth underside of the trough play a large role
in avoiding jamming of stones, among other things. The
new quick-change tines are 340 mm in length and 20
mm thick allowing ample wear material for long working
life without down time. The tines are also available in
hard faced versions.

The Allround knife tines
The Allround knife tines differ from the power harrow tines up until now
through edges that are sharpened on both sides. Thus, depending on the
working conditions, they can be mounted in the drag or the grad position.
The tine form, which is lightly inward curving, avoids soil smearing in the
drag position. Power harrow tines mounted in this position have a better
surface levelling effect in both seedbed preparation after the plough as well
as in conservation cultivations. Stones can be driven over without problems
and stay in the ground. In the grade position, the Allround tines demonstrate
their strengths in mulch seeding preparation with intensive mixing of soil
and vegetation. Where seedbeds are being prepared on the plough furrow,
this tine position pushes the finer soil particles into the seed horizon depth.
Rougher crumbs remain on the soil surface and so reduce the danger of
capping and loss of soil through water or wind erosion.
