GUIDELINES FOR REENTRY TO THE NURSING PROGRAM<br />

Students who do not progress through the curriculum on a continuous basis are considered to be<br />

a reentry student. This may include students who are unsuccessful academically or who choose<br />

to sit out one or more semesters for personal reasons.<br />

1. A reentry student must request to return to the Nursing Program by contacting the Director of<br />

Nursing and Health Education in writing. Requests will be accepted no later than five days<br />

following the end of the semester. The student must provide the following information:<br />

a. factors resulting in the need for this reentry<br />

b. identify the semester/year and campus of reentry<br />

c. plan for successful completion<br />

d. if a student is out for more than one semester (not including the summer semester) a new<br />

application to the college must be submitted<br />

e. Send the above information to:<br />

2. Acceptance will be determined based on the following criteria. Reentry requests will be<br />

reviewed and ranked according to the criteria listed at the end of the semester during which<br />

request is made.<br />

a. GPA for most recently completed semester<br />

b. Classroom and clinical attendance<br />

c. Grade for the course requested to be repeated<br />
