BIOGRAPHY Jennifer Hornsby has been Professor of Philosophy at Birkbeck, University of London since 1995, and has been Co-Director of the Rational Agency section of the Centre for the Study of Mind in Nature since its inception in 2007. She is an Emeritus Fellow of Corpus Christi College where she was a Tutorial Fellow from 1978 until 1994. She is a Fellow of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. She has published work in philosophy of mind and action, philosophy of language, and on questions about free speech as they relate, among other things, to pornography. Jennifer was president of the Aristotelian Society from 1996 to 1997. “The Disinterested Search for Truth” was originally published in the Proceedings of the Aristotelian Society, Volume XCVII (1997).
