Eriksholm Summer
Camp
Oticon established the Eriksholm
Research Centre in 1977 for a specific
purpose: to learn as much as
possible about the practical needs
of hearing-impaired people in order
to improve the fundamental performance
of hearing aids.
Today the work at Eriksholm embraces
three areas: audiology,
signal processing, and behavioural
science – always with the dual aim
of understanding the problems
caused by hearing impairment, and
proposing solutions which improve
on what is currently available.
Empowering
People
The Research Centre provides an
ideal environment, not only for
research projects, but also for
training large groups of people. In
addition to fixed and customised
training programmes, Eriksholm
hosts the ‘Summer Camp’, which is
organised by Oticon staff and sponsored
by the Oticon Foundation.
Nine out of the top ten reasons why people are
satisfied with their hearing solutions are directly
related to the quality of their interactions with their
hearing care professional. Clients depend on you,
your knowledge and your ability to understand, engage
and motivate them.
At this year’s Summer Camp we will introduce you to
some of the latest findings in our industry. You will
gain insight into today’s users, new trends in hearing
care and audiology, and new, breakthrough technologies.
You will have a chance to explore and discuss
the latest practical tools that can facilitate quicker
client acceptance and higher satisfaction. You will
also have an opportunity to go behind the scenes and
learn how Oticon applies the latest research findings
to develop innovative hearing solutions and tools.
The goal of this camp is to take you out of your daily
environment and to equip you with new tools to empower
people with hearing loss to play an active part
in life. We hope to challenge you to think creatively
about how to use the insights, technologies and
tools you have at your disposal to meet the individual
needs of every client seeking your assistance.
The main purpose of the Eriksholm
Summer Camp is to create a learning
environment for young audiologists
to work together in a partnership
of enthusiasm and experience
within the framework of Oticon’s
philosophy. Our goal is to provide
a memorable experience and a
network of friends and colleagues
around the world. The programme
is therefore a combination of lectures
and social events.
