Working in environmental impact assessments with a consulting engineering company is an<br />
opportunity that directly relates to my career goals. With a unique combination <strong>of</strong> science and<br />
engineering skills developed through academic and workplace experience, I am well suited to<br />
meet the challenges <strong>of</strong> a position with Morrow Environmental Engineering Services. Enclosed is<br />
my resume which highlights my related skills, experience and education.<br />
I am currently in the Masters <strong>of</strong> Applied Science in Environmental Fluid Mechanics, Civil<br />
Engineering Department at UBC. My focus is in wave dynamics as well as environmental fluid<br />
mechanics, physical oceanography and limnology. Throughout my degree, I have been involved<br />
in a number <strong>of</strong> fieldbased projects including a recent assignment examining the impact <strong>of</strong> wave<br />
pressure on the SeatoSky Highway project. A group <strong>of</strong> researchers gathered data and applied<br />
mathematical models to assess the impact <strong>of</strong> wave pressure on new highway structures. In<br />
addition, I possess a range <strong>of</strong> skills that could be applied to any waterrelated project including<br />
project design, data analysis, and report writing. I have received several academic awards for<br />
strong academic performance.<br />
My goal is to join a company that takes an integrated approach to aquatic environmental<br />
problems. I enjoy working in fastpaced, solutionoriented environments. I have shown<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>iciency in project development and management and am enthusiastic to continue my career<br />
working on projects in this capacity.<br />
I am eager to learn more about how I can add to Morrow’s success in <strong>of</strong>fering its clients a wide<br />
range <strong>of</strong> oceanographic and limnological services. I would welcome an opportunity to discuss my<br />
