CGCC is committed to a partnership in learning with students who are non-native<br />

English speakers. The English as a Second Language courses are designed to help<br />

foreign speakers from a variety of countries learn English by emphasizing four skill<br />

areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.<br />

Students enrolling in ESL courses should be tested so they can be placed in the<br />

appropriate skill levels. Based on test scores, students are placed in the appropriate-level<br />

conversation, grammar, and writing courses. Call (480) 732-7205 to schedule an<br />

appointment for ESL testing.
