Direct Technical Control of a Circuit Switch Network at a Signal Brigade or Higher

Conditions: As a network management technician assigned to a Signal Brigade S3 (EAC, ECB, or Joint),
you are given an OPORD/SOP, an operating switch network, and appropriate references. A change of
network status or configuration is required.
Standards: The circuit switch network was operational IAW the OPORD/SOP.
Performance Steps
1. Utilize network analysis tools.
2. Analyze the network status and database configuration.
3. Identify, control, and coordinate network troubleshooting.
4. Prioritize restoration/reconfiguration of circuit/trunks.
5. Engineer channel reassignment.
6. Implement and monitor switch recovery procedures.
7. Implement and monitor network rekeying.
8. Monitor the restoration/reconfiguration of the circuit switch network.
9. Provide management information to the Joint Communications Control Center (JCCC) or higher.
10. Conduct risk assessment.
