WORK EXPERIENCE<br />

2009 ( July ) – present : Director Planning and Coordination for NARC. Responsible for planning and<br />

implementing NARC's research and development programmes, monitoring activities and outcomes.<br />

2008 : Director, Livestock and Fisheries Research for NARC. Responsible for implementation of livestock,<br />

fodder & pasture, fisheries, and related projects.<br />

1986-2007: Head of Division, Pasture and Fodder Research Division, Khumaltar. Coordinated overall<br />

forage research and development activities throughout the country. Liaised with donor agencies FAO,<br />

IFAD, AERC Canada and NZAID representatives. Coordinated and conducted fodder-livestock interface<br />

programs for the Government of Nepal, FAO and IFAD in three agro-ecozones. Provided support and<br />

technical knowledge to INGO/NGO and individual farmers with seed and plant materials for rehabilitation of<br />

degraded leasehold forest land; implemented year round fodder production systems, increased milk and<br />

meat yields, reduced production costs, increased farm incomes. Implemented training programmes for seed<br />

production, and sustainable fodder conservation.<br />

1985 : Farm Manager, Pansayakhola Sheep Farm, Nuwakot of Department of Livestock Services,<br />

Government of Nepal (GoN). Sheep husbandry research activities were carried out for Polworth, Merino,<br />

Baruwal sheep, including high altitude migratory flocks.<br />

1984 : Sectoral Head, Livestock and Veterinary Sector, Integrated Hill Development Project<br />

(IHDP,GoN), Dandapakhar Sindhupalchowk. Conducted animal production activities at grass root<br />

level. Organized mobile animal health teams to treat animals in project areas. Provided farmer training<br />

in Livestock Production and Management.<br />

1983 : Pasture Development Officer, Central Livestock Development Center, Khumaltar, Department of<br />

Livestock Services (GoN). Responsible for preparation and monitoring of national forage improvement<br />

programmes (extension and research) .<br />

1979-82 : Farm Manager, Pasture Development Farm, Rasuwa, Department of Livestock Services<br />

(GoN). Initiated and completed a number of research and extension activities to improve high altitude<br />

grazing lands.<br />

Initiated and completed varietal trials for paddy, wheat and pulse crops. Provided training to progressive<br />
