- Year to date (July/Oct) figures have increased by 6.98%.<br />

- It should be noted that an attendance <strong>of</strong> 1,380 occurred at the Family Fun Day on the 31<br />

October. The afternoon activities were between 12n and 4pm with a $2 entry per person<br />

over 2 years <strong>of</strong> age. Feedback to staff indicated that families thoroughly enjoyed the<br />

afternoon, with good weather conditions.<br />

• Nine (9) staff from the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Bayswater</strong> has taken advantage <strong>of</strong> the 50% staff discount on<br />

memberships. Current active staff membership is 72.<br />

• The promotional <strong>of</strong>fer this month was on <strong>of</strong>fer to all 12 month new members and renewing<br />

members to receive an upgrade from one option to two option membership.<br />

• 134 new memberships were contracted and 200 members who renewed, with 66 new<br />

members participating in a health assessment.<br />

3. PRIVILEGE CARD<br />

Residents <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> are eligible to purchase a privilege card for $10 which entitles the holder to a<br />

15% discount on memberships and pool entry within the Centre. The discount card was introduced<br />

in 1999 and was made available to residents within the <strong>City</strong> over the age <strong>of</strong> 13 years. The current<br />

system does not have an expiry date on the privilege card however members are required to<br />

resubmit their information regarding their residency on renewal <strong>of</strong> their membership.<br />

• During the month <strong>of</strong> October 2009, 120 residents purchased a privilege card.<br />

• There are currently 16,697 registered privilege card holders.<br />

6. PROMOTIONS<br />

• The Centre advertised in the local print media the family fun day on Saturday 31 October<br />

2009.<br />

7. BUILDING, PLANT AND EQUIPMENT<br />

• The following equipment was replaced:<br />

- Dolphin pool cleaner;<br />

- Heat exchanger plates to the 50 metre Olympic pool;<br />

- Electrical circuit to the 25 metre pool pump;<br />

- Mechanical seal to the 25 meter pool pump;<br />

- PH probe to the 25 metre pool chlorine dosing pump;<br />

- RCD on the UV system for the Hydrotherapy pool.<br />

• A service was carried out on:<br />

- Monthly service <strong>of</strong> plant rooms and circulation systems;<br />

- AHU water treatment system;<br />

- Vacuums;<br />

- Front entrance doors (waiting on new motor).<br />

8. HEALTH, SAFETY AND SECURITY<br />

• The chlorine compound alarm has undergone testing on four occasions with no faults during<br />

the month under review.<br />

• Twelve (12) minor first aid incidents with no assistance required from lifeguards. There<br />

were no incidents that were referred to Police <strong>Services</strong>.<br />

9. STAFF<br />

• Currently there are is one staff vacancy for a full time lifeguard (maternity leave).

1. ATTENDANCE<br />

The water playground is ready to open for the 2009/2010 summer season from Sunday 1 November<br />

2009, through to 18 April 2010.<br />

The water playground will be closed on Christmas Day<br />

- replacement <strong>of</strong> wood huts with aluminium shade shelters;<br />

- upgrade to the mini golf course.<br />

4. STAFF<br />

Training has commenced for staff that will be employed over the summer months at the water<br />

playground.<br />

5. PROMOTION<br />

A postcard has been designed and will be distributed to 40,000 households promoting the events<br />

over the summer months, first being the family fun day on Sunday 29 November 2009.
