The bridge -- one of the interesting things is
that the network arch bridge, one of our concepts
could very well be built out on the barges and
completed over the course of construction, while the
construction was going on, then it can be jacked up,
brought into place. And because the river is tidal,
it would nominally afford a six-foot tide to bring it
into position and let the lowering tide set it on the
pier, and it can be placed in this fashion.
It's very similar to how a bridge like this design --
those of you who are familiar with I-195 in
Providence, that's a network arch bridge. That bridge
was actually built about 10 miles away on land,
transferred to barges and then raised up and lowered
with jacks onto the existing piers. That was done
about five years ago now.
This shows you the completion of the northbound
bridge being operated in it's interim condition. As
you can see, we have the three lanes of traffic. That
allows us to deconstruct the original bridge. Now,
it's very specific. The original arch really needs to
be deconstructed in reverse order how it was built in
the first place, so the suspended roadway deck will be
