crossing. Basically we've been looking at<br />

conventional bridges, steel girder boxes, both steel<br />

and concrete, a network tied arch, which is the one<br />

which wound up becoming preferred, a signal tower<br />

extradosed bridge, and a signal tower cable stay.<br />

This view is from the Chain <strong>Bridge</strong> looking out at the<br />

existing. And we have a number of views. We're just<br />

going to run through this one vantage point for this<br />

series of slides. This was basically a conventional<br />

built bridge pretty much applied for any of the looks<br />

that you'd get from visual impact from girder or<br />

boxes. This is the extradosed bridge. Excuse me.<br />

This is the cable stay bridge. This is the extradosed<br />

bridge. Pretty much the same pier configurations with<br />

some minor variations that were noticed with these<br />

projects.<br />

One of the things that you will have noticed is<br />

that the existing bridge has four piers in the water<br />

and the new bridge only has three. We basically have<br />

combined the middle two piers into one. Those of you<br />

that are familiar with the river, there's a high rock<br />

in between the two channels that are out there and<br />

we've located that pier on the high rock as well as<br />

we've pulled the abutments back about 50 foot to the<br />
