On the cost front, we are in an economic crisis, but even ifwe weren't, the<br />

government has no business spending taxpayers' hard earned money on items that are not<br />

genuinely needed or warranted. Adding a pedestrian and bicycle path is an example of<br />

such an expense, as I see it. I fail to see the benefit to the public at large that would<br />

warrant this additional expenditure under these circumstances.<br />

I suspect the federal government largess will just roll on and continue with its<br />

plan in this regard but it strikes me as ill advised.<br />
