§� TB is a contagious airborne disease caused by infection of
the lungs with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). In
Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR TB) the bacteria can
no longer be killed by at least the two best antibiotics,
isoniazid (INH) and rifampin (RIF) taken for six months to two
years.
§� Mechanism of Action:
DK-0249 is synonymous for five synthetically-produced
small peptides which act via direct anti-mycobacterial
killing. They are currently in the final candidate selection
phase.
