Swift The Swift takes after its namesake, one of the quickest around it darts and dives, but it’s comfy and stable enough to be a joy to ride all day. It comes in two configurations - we love single-speeds, but appreciate not everyone else does, or wants to ride with one gear all the time. Therefore we offer a standard geared frame, with all the fitments you need to run 27 gears if that’s your thing. But also have the Swift SS, which comes with a Phil Wood eccentric in the oversized bottom bracket shell. We also leave off all the cable stops for a nice clean finish. Thanks to the eccentric you have hassle free use of disc brakes, and no futzing with horizontal drops and chain tugs to get the chain tension right. An internally geared hub also works well with the SS frame. Unlike many manufacturers, all our framesets come fully prepped and ready to build including: Head tube faced and reamed Seat tube reamed Bottom bracket shell faced Front and rear disc mounts faced Framesaver anti-rust treatment Swift Mountain frame for 29” wheels Custom drawn double butted 4130 cro-moly steel Gear and brake cable guides Reynolds 520 steel fork Aluminium Swift headbadge Seat clamp included Swift SS Singlespeed Mountain frame for 29” wheels Custom drawn double butted 4130 cro-mo Phil Wood eccentric bottom bracket insert Only brake cable guides, no gear stops Reynolds 520 steel fork Aluminium Swift headbadge Seat clamp included £340 £360 Geometry Table Swift / Swift SS Medium Large Extra large In mm In mm In mm Effective top tube 23.3 592 24.3 618 25.3 642 Seat tube length 17.7 450 19.7 500 21.7 550 Head tube angle 71.5 72 72 Seat tube angle 73 72 72 Front centre 25.3 643 25.6 651 26.4 675 Head tube length 3.9 100 4.7 120 5.5 140 Fork length 19.1 485 19.1 485 19.1 485 Fork rake 1.88 48 1.88 48 1.88 48 Wheelbase 42.8 1086 43.1 1095 44 1119 Chainstay length 17.7 450 17.7 450 17.7 450 BB drop 2.35 60 2.35 60 2.35 60 Trail 2.87 73 2.76 70 2.76 70 General Seat-post diameter 27.2mm Rear spacing 135mm IS disc mounts 1 1/8” fork steerer Contact M 07747 623 595 W singularcycles.com E sam@singularcycles.com

Peregrine
The Peregrine harks back to some of the classic all-rounder bikes of old. Sturdy enough to hit the dirt,
nimble enough for some singletrack, stable enough for touring – the Peregrine will do what you want, take you
where you want. There’s enough clearance for 2.0” wide 29” tyres for true off-roading, or a nice fat 700x37 with
mudguards for touring, around town, or a bit of rough stuffing. Full braze-ons for racks and mudguards mean
you’re set for some long touring as well.
The frame is designed to give you sharp yet predictable handling. Long stays and a low bottom bracket mean
stability even with a load. At Singular we don’t believe ‘stable’ needs to mean it handles like a cumbersome old truck.
Unloaded, you can still rip along your local trails or even enter a local ‘cross race or two should the mood take you.
Hummingbird
It’s clear from the rest of the bikes in our range that we are great fans of larger wheels. They roll well and
maintain momentum well. Their size being a bit bigger makes it hard to design a nice handling bike for shorter
people. Some take the approach of very specific designs which can require weird manipulations of tubing and
accepted geometry to make 29” wheels work for smaller people. The reason the 26” wheel has prevailed for such
a long period of time that the size works just fine for those up to ‘average’ height. So for people under about 5’8”
(173cm) we’re working on the Hummingbird. This is a fairly standard (we think quite nice) 26” wheeled mountain
bike for use with modern long travel forks (100-120mm). There is a bit of a twist though. It also has a dedicated
rigid fork meant for use with a 29” wheel. The rigid fork gives the efficient power transfer, low weight and precise
steering it’s renowned for. While the bigger wheel smoothes out the rough ride a little, and gives a bit more
traction and confidence through corners.
Singular Hummingbird
Final details of the Hummingbird are still being decided, whether it has an EBB, what cable stops etc, we’d be
happy to have your feedback. We hope to have them in two sizes (S – 22” ETT, M – 23” ETT) in early 2009.
Gryphon
The Gryphon is our take on what are starting to be termed ‘monster-cross’ bikes. A term which seems to
encompass a broad sweep of anything more than a cross bike but not quite a ‘proper’ mountain bike. Quite what
people’s perceptions of a mountain bike are is something this bike aims to challenge. It’s really just a mountain
bike with big wheels and drop bars.
“Drop bars off road You’re crazy right” is a common reaction if people spy one of these on the trails. They’ve
clearly never enjoyed the feeling of riding proper drops off road. Note these are quite different bars from what
you’ll find on a road or track bike, very shallow, wide, and with a sharp flare to them they are perfect for moving the
bike around, while still providing a wealth of comfortable hand positions. They impart a feeling of being more ‘in’
the bike, rather than perched on it.
So a bike designed for use specifically for a certain type of bar Yes! And here’s what we do; top-tube is a little
shorter to account for the extra reach of drop bars. Head-tube is taller to bring the bars up to a usable level when
your hands are in the drops. And they are a rigid fork specific design because drop bars with a suspension fork is
just a step too far…
Singular Gryphon
Gryphons are a result of my own personal biking preferences, and they weren’t originally intended for sale. Such
is the reception received though, we hope to have a limited edition available in early 2009.
Pegasus
Titanium is the perfect material for bicycle frame construction. Strong, light, resilient, and providing a
wonderful lively ride. The only drawbacks are that it is difficult to work and expensive. However for those who
want the best, we are developing a titanium version of our Swift frameset. We recently received samples of this
frame from our Taiwan based manufacturer and are extremely impressed so far as to the finish and construction
quality. The ride is something which has to be experienced – it retains the sharp but predictable handling of the
Swift as you’d expect, but that singing feel of a high quality titanium frame is sublime. The lighter weight (1550g in
large size) certainly makes a difference on the climbs, though it’s a revelation as to how different two bikes of the
exact same geometry but made from different materials can be.
Singular Pegasus
Once the finer details of final configuration are completed we will be ordering a small production run of these
frames. It is expected at this time they will have a price tag around £850 and be available around Easter 2009.
