FENWICK has begun broadcasting
live coverage of selected athletic
events as well as regular programming of
talk shows and music via the internet. The
programming is produced by students,
with the guidance of Fenwick’s
technology services team, Rev. Michael
Winkels, O.P., and Ernesto Nieto, and the
voices are Fenwick students, too.
Radio manager, Joe Pawlak ’05, heads up
a group of 25 students who plan and
produce radio programs before or after
school. Students also serve as talk show
commentators, and the announcers at
athletic events are Dave Monteagudo ’04,
and Matt Formansky ’03.
The regular programming includes sports
news, film reviews, and a student version
of “Hardball,” a lively discussion of
current political issues.
A special feature of Fenwick radio is that
listeners can e-mail announcers or talk to
show participants during the live coverage.
Listening to Fenwick radio requires
“RealOne Player,” which can be
downloaded free through the web site.
