Reconditioned Gearboxes<br />

Reconditioned gearboxes are a great way to rectify problems with the Minis bottom end.<br />

Not everyone is able to strip down a Mini gearbox and rebuild it themselves as the<br />

procedure is quite complex.<br />

Common problems with the Minis gearboxes are jumping out of gears when driven or<br />

stiffness selecting gears or crunching gears when selected. Some of these issues can be<br />

caused by bulk rings being badly worn or teeth on the gears being worn or missing. All<br />

these problems require the engine and gearbox to be removed from the in order to be<br />

rectified. Our reconditioned gearboxes are a great way to keep your Mini on the road<br />

where it belongs.<br />

Please note you will need to retain the speedo pinion from your old gearbox and ensure<br />

you ask for the correct differential ratio! This is so your speedo reads correctly after fitting<br />

a reconditioned gearbox.<br />

Millers Oils<br />

Millers classic oil range has been specifically developed to protect and enhance the<br />

engines of classic vehicles. Millers classic lubricants utilise modern additive technology in<br />

period style viscosities to enable the classic vehicle owner to obtain the optimum<br />

lubrication for their car.<br />

This Classic TransM 20w50 is a unique oil, formulated for power units where the engine<br />

and gearbox share the same oil. A mineral 20w50, containing EP (extreme pressure)<br />

additives to protect the gears and bearings in the gearbox. Can also be used in any<br />

gearbox where a 20w50 is specified.<br />

Penrite Oils<br />

Modern lubricants do not necessarily suit older vehicles, the oils are often too thin, and the<br />

additive packages suit today’s advanced engineering and materials, not those used in the<br />

design and manufacture of your classic. Penrite oils are blended from high quality base<br />

stocks, combined with additives selected to give the best performance and reduced oil<br />

consumption whilst giving better oil pressure, increased engine protection and reducing<br />

the build up of sludge deposits. Penrite’s philosophy of meeting and exceeding original<br />

requirements extends across their range of lubricants. Other lubricants and sizes from the<br />

Penrite running-in oil is designed to promote and control the bedding-in process of newly<br />

built engines. It should be used for the first 300 miles and then replaced with the<br />

appropriate grade of HPR oil.<br />

Penrite Classic (20w/50) engine oil is designed specifically for vehicles from the 1960’s and<br />
