Impact <strong>of</strong> Parameter Uncertainty on Asset Criticality and System Reliability, Hydro One, Inc. Toronto,<br />

Ontario. January 2004-December 2004<br />

• Developed system reliability models for Hydro One, Inc., related with the reliability evaluation <strong>of</strong><br />

electricity transmission and distribution systems.<br />

• Developed models to determine the importance <strong>of</strong> components in the electricity transmission and<br />

distribution systems to determine where investments should be made in order to increase the<br />

overall system availability.<br />

• Developed models to relate the impact <strong>of</strong> each individual component variability to the overall<br />

system availability.<br />

• Developed an excel-based s<strong>of</strong>tware to incorporate the models developed and evaluate the system<br />

availability and component importance <strong>of</strong> several commonly used electricity transmission and<br />

distribution configurations.<br />

• Developed models to estimate the impact <strong>of</strong> switching times in the overall system availability.<br />
