Branded Apparel Program - Colorado Test Pilot
-----------------------------------------------------Apparel Guidelines----------------------------------------------------
As employees of KeyBank we deliver quality, professional service to our clients at all times. The manner in which we
communicate and present ourselves to our clients influences their relationship with KeyBank. It is very important to
maintain a favorable impression in keeping with KeyBank’s professional image. The way employees present themselves
in both appearance and conduct is extremely important in creating, enhancing, and maintaining this impression.
To this end, KeyBank employees are expected to exercise good, solid business judgment in individual grooming, dress
habits and conduct. Employees are expected to be well groomed and to wear appropriate business clothing as well as
adhering to the highest level of professionalism during working hours.
To further enhance Key’s identity, KeyBank is pleased to work with Lands’ End Business Outfitters to provide apparel
products for your work wardrobe. These apparel products make KeyBank employees more readily identifiable and
approachable to clients while promoting professionalism and consistency.
There are over 30 items for you to choose from, all in a range of sizes, colors and styles to fit your personal taste. The
selection includes a variety of pieces that can be mixed and matched to create numerous outfits; sweater options are
added to create layers and additional functionality. Products were selected to create consistent, professional clothing
attire for branch employees. We are looking forward to working with you to make this program a success for you as well
as our clients!
Specific guidelines:
• Pants, trousers, skirts:
– Employees may wear their own items provided they are black and only black in color (no pants, trousers or
pressed and free of wrinkles.
– Skirts should be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee.
– Cropped, capri, gaucho, drawstring, leggings, stirrup, stretch and parachute pants are not appropriate or
permitted.
• Jackets:
– Employees may wear their own suit jacket, provided it is black in color and professional looking. A suit jacket
is not required, but if you choose to wear a jacket, a KeyBank branded/Land’s End button down shirt
underneath is required.
• Shirts and blouses:
– Must be KeyBank branded/Land’s End apparel approved items only.
– All men’s shirts must have a collar.
• Sweaters:
– Although not mandatory, sweaters worn must be KeyBank branded/Land’s End apparel approved items only.
• Ties (men):
– Men in Branch Manager, Assistant Branch Manager, and Relationship Manager roles are required to wear a
necktie. It is optional for branch tellers to wear a necktie.
• Your tie must be chosen and worn from the approved KeyBank branded/Land’s End apparel line.
• Shoes:
– Men and women should wear black, closed-toed shoes with hosiery. Dressier, open-toed shoes are
permitted. No sandals, flip-flopps, tennis shoes, boat shoes, hiking boots or other casual looking shoes are
permitted.
Name tag:
• Name tags should ALWAYS be worn during work hours.
• Your name tag should be worn on the left side chest (or opposite side of embroidered logo).
• Employees are free to wear their Key Pin every day. In addition to the KeyBank branded apparel, the Key Pin is a
powerful reminder to clients of the quality and professional service each and every KeyBank employee delivers and it
differentiates us from our competitors. Wear at your discretion.
Miscellaneous:
• As always, clothing should be neat, clean, and free of tears, or worn areas to maintain a professional work
appearance.
• Choose clothing that is comfortable yet reflects a professional attitude. In addition, all employees should avoid
excessive or extremely trendy apparel and grooming, including jewelry, make-up, nail fashions and hairstyles. Visible
body - piercing jewelry is inappropriate (e.g. tongue, lips, eyebrows, nostrils).
• When in doubt, ask. Management is responsible for determining what attire is appropriate. If you question whether a
clothing item is appropriate, ask your manager before wearing it to work.
Individuals who come to work dressed or groomed inappropriately may be sent home to change. Those individuals will be
expected to return to work to finish the workday. Employees may be required to use PTO time to be paid for the time
away from work. Employees who repeatedly fail to follow these dress and appearance standards may be subject to a
Performance Improvement Plan as described in Key’s Personal Appearance Policy located in PolicyPlus on HR Online.
