Design a Bookmark<br />

AGE 4 – 10 I 10.00am – 12 noon I RBS Workshop Tent I Free & drop-in<br />

It was twenty five years ago that the Book Festival began. Celebrate our birthday<br />

with us by dropping in to design your own bookmark to mark the occasion. Artist<br />

Linda McCann will help you to portray all of your favourite stories and characters<br />

and get your imagination fired up <strong>for</strong> a summer of fun!<br />

Drop-in events are limited to 30 people at any one time.<br />

Cathy Cassidy, the queen of tween, is back with her trademark style and humour.<br />

Ginger has made it – she’s finally lost her baby fat and mastered her hair<br />

will adore Cathy’s heartfelt stories and quirky characters; come along and delve<br />

into her delicious new novel Ginger Snaps.<br />

Mr Big with Ed Vere<br />

Ed Vere’s bright, imaginative picture books are certainly making a splash.<br />

Ed introduces his newest character, Mr Big, a lonely gorilla with a penchant<br />

<strong>for</strong> piano in this silly, fun event of drawing and stories. Don’t <strong>for</strong>get: never<br />

judge a gorilla by its cover!<br />

Manfred the Baddie with John Fardell<br />

from art museums and conducts acts of piracy on the high seas! Join author,<br />

Dinosaurs Galore!<br />

Come on a prehistoric adventure chock-full of amazing discoveries. Author and illustrator<br />

Paul Geraghty consulted leading palaeontologists so that he could accurately depict the<br />

dinosaurs and environment of the late Cretaceous period; hear all the interesting facts<br />

and watch him draw a dino or two!<br />

The Very Hungry Caterpillar<br />

AGE 3 – 6 I 3.00pm – 4.30pm I RBS Workshop Tent I £3.50<br />

Artist Julie Dawson brings Eric Carle’s timeless picture book to life. Hear the story<br />

and then design your own creature creations in collage and painted paper. Watch<br />

your ideas trans<strong>for</strong>m into beautiful works of art in this hands-on event.<br />
