Item #
330 Numotizine Poultice and Cataplasm, 24 oz *S/O
331 Numotizine Poultice and Cataplasm, 3 lb *S/O
The mother of poultices! Analgesic decongestive cataplasm for relief
in local inflammation, chest congestions, swollen glands, bruises, sprains
and muscular aches. Veterinary Numotizine Cataplasm is a comforting
poultice of Kaolin, Beechwood, Creosote and Methyl Salicylate which
helps provide temporary relief of superficial and muscular pain, soreness
and stiffness in sprains, sore shin, tendonitis, and conditions. It is
also effective in painful swellings - in fact, wherever there is need for
massage and a comforting, counterirritant application. Applied as a
poultice, Numotizine helps retain the body’s own warmth in the area
under treatment. The Cataplasm medicated with guaiacol, beechwood
creosote and methyl salicylate for comforting warmth. Directions:
After first rubbing in a small quantity of Numotizine Cataplasm to insure
contact with the skin, apply 1/4” thick. Cover with suitable bandaging.
Numotizine Cataplasm may be spread directly on the skin and then
bandaged, or spread on the cloth first and then applied with the poultice
in contact with the skin. The application may be left on 8 to 12 hours
before removing and replacing with a new application if desired.
Numotizine does not have to be heated, but will act best when warmed
to body temperature, especially if it has been stored in a cold place.
Liniments
DMSO
Item #
199 DMSO (Dimethyl sulfoxide) Roll-On, 3 oz
99.9% pure DMSO. A staple in the equine industry to reduce acute
swelling due to trauma. When combined with an antibiotic it will
increase penetration when applied topically. Available in a convenient
roll on for less mess. Dimethyl sulfoxide, or DMSO, is an all natural
substance derived from wood pulp (lignin). DMSO has been widely
used for many years in equine, animal and sports medicine for a
variety of problems and conditions. Since it can be used for many
conditions, some say this is the aspirin of our time. First and only
coxib-class NSAID approved by the FDA for veterinary use.
Reducine
Item #
890550 Reducine Absorbent for Horses, 1 lb
The original Dublin formula since 1889 in the beautiful can. It is a
counterirritant for use, and as an aid, in the temporary relief of minor
stiffness and soreness caused by over exertion. Contains: Potassium
Iodide; Iodine Resublimed; Pine Tar; Saponified Vegetable Oils.
DIRECTIONS: Do not apply too much Reducine Absorbent at a time;
enough to dampen the skin is sufficient. Clip the hair from the part
to be treated and rub Reducine Absorbent in well either by hand or
with a small stiff brush. Repeat this treatment on succeeding days
until the skin shows signs of cracking or scaling. As soon as this is
noticed, stop the applications and leave the part entirely alone. Do
not use oil or lard as is customary after blistering. If very lame the
animal should be turned out in a paddock, or led about by hand for
half an hour twice daily. If not, it should be exercised gently every
day, but in no case should it be allowed to stand all day in a stable.
For ease of application, warm Reducine Absorbent before using.
