GELCOATS Crystic Gelcoat 14PA Modified Vinylester Brush <strong>Tooling</strong> Gelcoat A modified Vinylester brush tooling gelcoat, which has excellent gloss retention and exceptional resilience. It has good chemical resistance and offers a genuine solution to the problem of "water marking". Hi Spec Plastics have been in business since 1968 designing and manufacturing liferaft containers, Marine, Aviation and leisure. Over the years we have tried and tested a number of different tooling Gelcoats but none have exhibited the performance excellence of Crystic 14PA. One of the moulds produced using 14PA has had over 4,000 lifts over a number of years with no evidence of dulling, crazing or cracking of the gelcoat surface. Crystic Primecoat High build, polyester coating material Crystic Primecoat allows the rapid surfacing of patterns constructed of wood, MDF, GRP etc. It can be applied wet-on-wet up to a thickness of 1.5mm in one operation without sagging or drainage from vertical surfaces. It is designed for spray application but it can be applied by brush. Spray application will give a more uniform coating requiring much less finishing. The material hardens rapidly and when cured can be easily sanded to a very smooth finish which can be polished to a surface glossy enough for many applications. When higher gloss and/or hardness is required it can be surfaced with Crystic Glosscoat. Crystic Glosscoat Polyester coating for use with Primecoat Crystic Glosscoat is designed to be applied over prepared Crystic Primecoat to give a glossier and more durable surface. The material hardens rapidly and can be sanded to a smooth surface which can be polished to a high gloss. It is designed for spray application. It can be mixed with Crystic Primecoat to give intermediate surface gloss and easier sanding and polishing. SKINCOAT Crystic VE 679PA Skin Coat An easy to use Vinyl ester /DCPD skincoat which significantly reduces the occurrence of fibre print through. TOOLING RESINS Crystic RTR 4000PA Rapid <strong>Tooling</strong> Resin Crystic 474PA Heat and Chemical Resistant Laminating Resin RTR 4000A is a pre-accelerated low profile, thixotropic resin specifically designed for rapid tool making. It has improved shrinkage control giving good handling and rapid cure. It is catalysed with Butanox M50 or equivalent. Is a thixotropic, pre-accelerated polyester resin with good heat and chemical resistant properties. It is ideally suitable for the production of heat resistant, dimensionally stable moulds.
