FOR MODELS: JGZ AND JGU SECTION 5 - MAINTENANCE Spanner Wrench Adapter - Mounted on the Crosshead-Balance Nut with (3) Special Shoulder Bolts. Position the Open area toward the Spanner Wrench. Do not index open area greater than 90° or spanner wrench can become sprung. SEE CAUTION ON PAGE 5-14. Special High Strength Shoulder Bolts (3), Provided with Tool Crosshead- Balance Nut Spanner Wrench Reconfigure Tool with cylinder set to push against the top of the window for tightening the nut. 10,000 psi (690 bar) Rated Cylinder with 2.13 in. (54 mm) Stroke, Single Acting/ Spring Return. Separately Purchased Hand Pump Kit (G-12639) is Recommended to Power the Cylinder. FIGURE 5-10 CROSSHEAD-BALANCE NUT HYDRAULIC TORQUE TOOL (G-12645) - SHOWN FOR LOOSENING THE NUT - TYPICAL BICERA Type Crankcase Over-Pressure Relief Valves If the compressor is equipped with BICERA type crankcase over-pressure relief valves installed on the crosshead guides, inspect and exercise the valves periodically as required in Section 6, and after any over pressure occurrence. Be sure that the valves function properly and that the seals are in good condition. Customized re-build kits for BICERA type relief valves are available from Ariel Corporation. See the Ariel Parts List of a specific compressor for the valve part numbers and table below for the re-build kit part numbers. Refer to the instruction sheet included with the kits for more information.
