A checklist of features that should be considered when
purchasing an overhead projector:
Additional socket:
For connection of additional equipment (e.g. document cameras);
ensures comfortable and professional presentations.
Condenser lens:
Additional light focusing for improved sharpness of projection
image along the margins.
External lamp house adjustment:
Adjustment of the optimal sharpness without having to open the
machine; colour borders are easy to remove.
Fold-down projection arm:
Ensures easy transport and saves storage room.
Glare-free fresnel lens:
Avoids light scattering thus allows working for longer periods
without eyes getting tired.
Lamp economy switch:
Prolongs the life span of a lamp.
Lumens:
The light output of the overhead projector necessary for producing
the picture i.e. the higher the lumens, the better the projected
picture.
On/off switch on worktop:
No need to search for the switch when switching the projector on
or off during a lecture.
Optical axis:
Responsible for the sharpness of a projection picture. Only if the
projection head is positioned vertically above the lamp house and
the concave mirror you are able to get a sharp projection picture.
It is important that there is a stable connection between projection
head and projection arm.
Quick lamp changer:
In case of a lamp failure you activate the spare lamp with just one
hand movement without having to interrupt your lecture.
Vario focal lens:
Lens with a variable focal length (270-340 mm); avoids annoying
blue or yellow light borders.
