foreword
Dear colleagues, students and teaching staff,
IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems was set up 19 years ago. A great deal has changed since then, and we have grown
across the board. We have introduced new degree programmes (Undergraduate and Graduate) and added new facilities. Our
organisational structure has also changed to accommodate growing numbers of students and staff members, a process that
is far from over.
We have actively embraced our corporate identity since its introduction in 2003. We want our corporate identity and
corporate design to create a consistent, clear line that communicates professionalism and presents a uniform identity.
An active corporate culture safeguards our identity from imitation by competitors while delivering additional competitive
advantages.
All university partners must be able to identify our unique IMC Krems culture from the outset – it must be present in our
brochures, our homepage, our premises and at any external events. Establishing a corporate design is not a process that
happens overnight, which is why consistency is a salient factor.
This manual presents guidelines and information on how to implement our corporate design, which is a central element of
our quality management processes.
With all best regards,
strategy
The IMC Krems underwent a major strategic realignment in the 2010/11
academic year. The strategy was adapted to take into account the requirements
of our operating environment and the market, and renamed Strategy 2020.
Strategy 2020 is designed to safeguard the University’s competitiveness and
market position, and promote its long-term development. It also demonstrates
to staff and partners the ways in which the IMC Krems aims to turn its vision into
reality.
n Our vision
As an internationally recognised university, our vision is to develop innovative
solutions in our core disciplines.
n Our mission
We are an Austrian university with an international focus. We offer demanddriven,
career-oriented degree courses that meet international university
standards. As a result our graduates are qualified to take on positions of
responsibility in the world of business and in society as a whole. Our alumni and
partners are constantly involved in shaping the University’s development, and as
a result contribute to continuous improvements in the quality of our teaching
and research.
n Our values
We are a learning team. Our leading priorities are:
n Fairness
n Commitment
n Mutual trust
n A sense of responsibility
n Embracing diversity and
n Personal advancement
corporate Identity
Nowadays, gaining a competitive advantage is not just a question of offering
high-quality products and services – all of our competitors are already doing
precisely that. Successful companies manage to distinguish themselves clearly
from the competition by means of their products, services and internal and
external image.
An unmistakeable, eye-catching and coherent identity that induces positive
emotions, as well as unrivalled quality are now key business targets, and essential
to preserving the long-term loyalty of employees, customers and the wider
public.
n Corporate identity ... defines who we are
n Corporate behaviour ... defines how we should act
n Corporate wording ... defines the language we use in
communications
n Corporate design ... combines all three of these aspects
to create a coherent visual concept
Corporate design is therefore a key component of our corporate identity and
determines the outward appearance projected by the IMC University of Applied
Sciences Krems. Our aim is to present a clearly defined, uniform and – most
importantly – easily recognisable image.
Three communication tools are used to achieve this
n Corporate identity printed materials and communications
Materials that help the University to present a consistent image, including
letterheads, press folders, project folders and study guides.
n Promotional printed materials and PR activities
All communication tools used for promotional activities, such as fairs and
exhibitions, school visits, and the Open House, with images updated
from time to time.
n Product-related printed materials and communications
e.g. Bachelor and Master degree brochures, posters and roll-ups, ...
This manual outlines the rules for the use of the main design elements of
the IMC Krems brand. These rules are binding for all publications and public
appearances.
The design of all materials published by the University should be based on the
guidelines and rules contained in this manual.
The logo
coloUr code
The key element of the corporate design is the logo. The University of Applied
Sciences / Austria logo may be reproduced as four colour (4c) or black and
white (bw). Only original versions of the logo may be used in communications.
Up-to-date versions of the logo are available in the E-Desktop/QM System or
online at www.fh-krems.ac.at
The IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems logo is two colour and
consists of the letters “I, “M” and “C” and the German and English
wording. From now on, the IMC lettering must not appear independently
of the words FH KREMS - UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES / AUSTRIA.
The ratio of logo height to logo width may not be adapted under any
circumstances as the proportions must be maintained. The logo must not
be used by external parties without the prior express permission of the
Standardised names for degree, programmes and responsibilities are an
important factor in how IMC Krems is perceived. Names and designations are
essentially brands and should be instantly recognisable as such thanks to a
uniform orthography. The examples and colours are shown below:
on a mid- and long-term basis.
The employment rate of graduates
amounts to more than 90%.
Research skills are required in any
tourism sector on both academic and
at the IMC FH Krems is always
applied research. Bachelor theses or
