• Key Performance indicators (KPI) and performance targets determined in terms of Section
41 of the Municipal Systems Act
Section 34 of the Municipal Systems Act and the Municipal Planning and Performance
Management Regulations (2001), stipulates that a municipal council-
a) Must review its integrated development plan: -
i. Annually in accordance with an assessment of its performance
Measurements in terms of Section 4 1; and
ii. To the extent that changing circumstances so demand; and
b) may amend its IDP in accordance with a prescribed process
During its annual review, each municipality must review:
• The needs of the community
• Its priorities in meeting those needs
• Its processes for involving the community
• Its organizational and delivery mechanisms for meeting the community needs; and
• Its overall performance in achieving the set objectives
