NOILE TEHNOLOGII ÎN FORMAREA ŞI UTILIZAREA LISTELOR ELECTORALE. EVOLUŢII ŞI PERSPECTIVE 53
Given that the number of voters included in supplementary lists in the parliamentary
elections of July 29, 2009, decreased compared to the April 5 parliamentary
elections (from 4.36% to 3.89%), and given the references made by the national
and international observers in their final reports on the activities pertaining to
voter lists, there is a positive trend in this respect.
It is clear that there still remain some reservations about the quality of voter lists,
on which the Central Election Commission will continue to work to remove the
the practice already acquired by our colleagues of the ACCEEO Member States,
so as towards the end of this important forum to come up with concrete suggestions
and proposals both on improving the legislation, and on implementing new
technologies in this very important area of the election process.
Dear colleagues!
It is obvious that with the growth of computerization of our society, the forms of
organizing and conducting elections and referenda are diversifying too. In the process
of electing the eligible public authorities, including by implementing electronic
processes, this is a modality of strengthening the society in a democratic state.
It is the international practice that shows that automating all the phases of the
electoral process allows for a substantial reduction of manual work and, impor-
