• Main data on adult BiH citizens are taken over from the records of IDDEEA
(name, last name, date of birth, ID number, address, and municipality of permanent
or temporal residence)
• Additional data must be directly determined in municipalities (polling station
for every voter), in person from persons who are temporarily residing abroad
(address abroad)
Active registration remained in force only for voters living outside BiH
• Having in mind that citizens who live outside BiH cast their vote by mail, it is
necessary for them to confirm their registration (address abroad and identity)
• It is also necessary to submit any changes in the data if the latter were not
submitted to bodies competent for civil registry.
Use of excerpt from the Central Voters’ Register
• Central Voters Register is a record on BiH citizens having the right to vote in
accordance with the BiH Election Law and it is design, kept and used for:
• organization and administration of elections in accordance with the law;
• for administering referendums,
• for conducting recall procedure for an elected official and elections of bodies
of local self-government in accordance with the law
• Central Voters Register and excerpt from the CVR are public.
Publishing data from the Central Voters’ Register and display of its content to the
public is done taking care of personal data protection principles, and in accordance
to the Law on protection of personal data.
