NOILE TEHNOLOGII ÎN FORMAREA ŞI UTILIZAREA LISTELOR ELECTORALE. EVOLUŢII ŞI PERSPECTIVE 103
due to the fact that the data management modality became unified, and thus we
excluded duplications between sectors (over 3,000 entries – citizens that could
be registered both at the new place of registration, and at the previous address,
due to delayed data exchange).
Thanks to the implementation of this application, the quality of voter lists has improved,
so that in the early parliamentary elections of 2009 the percentage of voters
However, some solutions are still necessary for issues related to voter lists’ management:
• The issue of street names (in particular, in Chisinau)
Local authorities determine the boundaries of the polling stations; their description
personal experience).
For these situations, we propose to encode the names of streets, with their inclusion
in a database compiled in accordance with the Street Guide (names are as-
