the modern rod-building stakes. 

Rod technology has come a long way from the broom 

handles and split cane models of the 20th century, 

through to the solid glass fibre and tubular carbon 

composite blanks of the 1970s, 80s and 90s. We now 

have the means to produce extremely strong, yet light 

carbon blanks with the perfect action required for any 

style and type of fishing that you choose to do. We have 

continued to lead the way in rod design for decades, 

using the most modern construction methods matched 

with the finest grade materials - be they 24 ton to 60 ton 

carbon, genuine Fuji guides and reel seats, and Gudebrod 

whipping threads. Anglers in the know use Penn rods

TRQ® Jigging Rods are designed using a super thin yet strong blank that provides incredible strength necessary when pulling up large tuna, 

snapper and grouper. The rods are strengthened by an additional layer of graphite. With all the strength the rods possess, they are still 

light enough for long-term jigging. All TRQ® Jigging Rods are finished with PacBay stainless steel guides with deep-pressed titanium coated 

inserts for durability against salt water conditions. Triangle-shaped EVA handles are easy to hold and keep the rod from turning over while 

fighting fish. The EVA rear grip features flat sides for added comfort when holding the rod under your arm.

OVERSEAS SERIES 

Overseas rods are designed using high performance, hi-carbon, lightweight blanks and offer 

the highest performance levels in both fishing and casting in the price range. All Overseas 

rods are supplied with cordura travel tubes. 

Overseas Spin 

A range of three rods covering all aspects of saltwater and freshwater spinning 

from smaller species such as perch, sea bream, garfish and mackerel, also bass, 

pollack, zander and bonito, up to bigger predators such as specimen pike, zander 

and coalfish. Designed with progressive, but powerful fast taper actions to 

maximise casting distance, but also with the power to set the hook at long range. 

Rod lengths of 2.40m, 2.70m and 3.00m in two equal sections and casting 15-40g, 

20-50g and 20-60g. They feature a lightweight 24-ton carbon blank designed to be 

fished for long periods without fatigue.

Overseas Light Pilk 

Designed to fish small metal lures and jigheads at given depths throughout the water column when targeting fish up off the seabed. 

Typical target species include cod, coalfish and bass, also mackerel, pollack, small bonito, pompano and many other species of predatory 

fish. The extra length of these 2.70 to 3.00-metre rods when working the pilk gives the lure maximium action in the water resulting in 

improved catches. Four rods in the range covering pilk weights from 80g-160g. The blank is a lightweight powerful 24-ton carbon type with

LINES 

Penn International lines have been developed to the same 

exacting standards as our rods and reels. Our overall aim 

is to achieve a high breaking strain for minimum diameter 

in all line types, but then each line type needs different 

characteristics to suit its intended fishing style. 

Penn International Translucent Braid is one of the 

toughest available with a high abrasion resistance, 

strong knot strength, plus it features Cold Fused 

Technology a system preventing water soaking in to the 

line giving it a smooth surface for improved handling 

performance. It’s also designed in translucent format 

making it less visible in the water. Alternatively you have 

Penn International Braid in yellow, made to the same 

high standards, this line enables you to see the line 

angle when fighting big fish deep down and far off. 

International Surf & Boat monofilament is one of the most 

versatile lines available. It handles superbly off the reel 

when long range surf casting, but is also a top boat reel 

line as well. It offers minimum stretch, low memory, has 

high abrasion resistance but with a low diameter. 

Our Shock Leader has minimum stretch for maximum feel 

of the lead weight when building up a powerful cast, 

but again features high knot strength, low diameter and 

high abrasion resistance. Being minimal stretch it also 

makes the perfect leader material for joining to braided 

lines when boat fishing. 

Completing the line range is Penn International Fluoro 

carbon. Made using cutting edge technology this line is 

virtually invisible in water, retains a slight suppleness 

for better bait and lure presentation, but has incredible 

abrasion resistance with a low diameter. It also knots 

well so is compatible with both mono and braid lines as 

a clear leader material when working lures.
