Summary: Jared Franklin and Peter Bash, two young lawyers willing to do anything
for a client, are offered jobs at the prominent law firm run by
Stanton Infeld who decides to recruit the pair to energize his firm. Accompanying
the two are their legal aides, Carmen Phillips and Pindar
Singh.
Open with attorneys Jared Franklin
and Steven Bash sitting at a diner discussing
Bash’s chances of sleeping with
Marissa Tomei. There is a car accident in
front of them and they sprint out to suggest
the driver sue the manufacturer of a
video billboard for creating a distraction.
Franklin and Bash’s two-attorney firm
has a fraternity-like feel – legal documents
left in the refrigerator, nobody can
talk at meeting unless they are holding
the football, etc. They have two employees,
Carmen and Pindar, and it seems
like the firm is hurting for cash. Pindar
doesn’t think they have much of a case
with the billboard case. Bash is working on a case defending a woman named Annie on a prostitution
charge he thinks is meritless. The DA has apparently assigned Bash’s ex, Janie, to oppose
him. Bash says he’s moved on from Janie, Franklin doesn’t believe him.
Right before Franklin and Bash head into court fro the billboard trial Bash runs into Janie.
He says she has no case against Annie, as she’s a dominatrix rather than a hooker. He says he
misses her and says he’s not the same guy he used to be.
Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
On their way into the courtroom the guys have a negative back-and-forth with the opposing
counsel and run into a goofy-looking older man wearing blue sunglasses and sweatpants.
Franklin questions the attractive female from the billboard ad. A few seconds in, he nods and
she takes off her shirt and bounces around. The judge has Franklin and his witness removed
from the room. But once they are gone Bash points out that nobody – including opposing counsel
Damien Karp – recalls what she said on the stand because they were distracted. The sweatpants
guys smiles in the crowd.
Carmen gets a call that the firm representing the billboard – Infeld Daniels – wants to settle.
At Infeld Daniels they are taken to meet Stanton Infeld, one of the biggest attorneys in the
country. It turns out Infeld was the guy in the sweatpants and he’s been looking at both of
them for quite some time. After handing over the settlement check he offers them a job. Franklin
doesn’t like the idea, but caves when Infeld agrees to every one of their terms.
Prior to Franklin and Bash’s first day in the new office Pindar, who has OCD-like quirks,
tells them he isn’t excited about working downtown. The guys introduce themselves at a firm
meeting and learn the Infeld team is defending a pilot named Tommy Donegan and his airline
from passengers suing because they suffered injuries during an emergency landing.
After the meeting it is clear some of Infeld’s staff isn’t impressed with the new guys. Attorney
Hanna Linden introduces herself to Franklin. Infeld tells Bash that Karp (his nephew) will be in
charge of taking Donegan’s airline TranSky to the media. He wants them to go along and help
Karp, who often has issues dealing with reporters.
Bash is stunned to learn the judge on his prostitution case is now a woman. Janie has found
pictures of Annie engaging in sex and Bash’s motion to dismiss is quickly denied.
Afterwards Annie tells Bash that no money changes hands. Evan was originally a client but
they fell in love and began seeing each other. When Annie found out he was married she ended
things.
With Franklin and Bash watching from afar Karp addresses the media with Donegan and the
CEO of TranSky, Neil Bryant. Reporters begin to ask Donegan about rumors he was engaged in
sexual activity with a flight attendant minutes before the plane had engine trouble. Karp gets
frustrated and yells at Donegan to ”shut up.” To divert attention Franklin begins punching Bash.
Infeld isn’t happy with the stunt and Karp seems to be leading the contingent of partners who
want the new guys gone. Bash points out that the headlines were about two lawyers fighting and
not Donegan’s character flaws. Infeld’s idea to keep Donegan out of trouble is for the pilot to stay
with Franklin and Bash.
Debbie tells Bash to check on Franklin. He finds Franklin playing Wii in the conference room.
This leads to an argument between the two. Bash thinks Franklin needs to be a little more
professional, while Franklin thinks that Bash is a sell-out. Franklin invites Hanna to hang out
at their place with Donegan that night but she passes.
Franklin entertains Donegan, who is playing video games next to several ladies. He claims to
never have had sex while piloting a plane. Annie shows up and tells Bash that Evan now claims
he never loved her. He’s calling her his ”sex addiction.” Annie has no paper trail of Evan saying
he loved her. Pindar’s suggests bring forward clients to testify they never had sex with Annie,
but Bash thinks they need put Evan on the stand. Hanna shows up having had a fight with her
boyfriend.
Later that night Bash sits in the hot tub with Donegan (and a bunch of women) and they
discuss women. Bash promises they’ll clear Donegan’s name. Franklin and Hanna start to hook
up. Pindar still has a camera connection to the firm’s conference room and he overhears Karp
and Bryant putting together a plan to pin the entire mess on Donegan. They want to prove his
actions were so outrageous they were beyond his scope as a TranSky employee and plan to
fabricate a witness.
Franklin confronts Karp about his Donegan plan. It seems Karp was Hannah’s boyfriend.
Karp is willing to bet the OCD Pindar won’t leave the leave the house to testify against him and
Bryant and plans to go ahead with his motion as planned.
Hannah tells Franklin she likes him, but it seems she might have been using him to feed Karp
information.
Franklin demands that Pindar show up in court that day. Pindar isn’t happy.
Bash questions Evan on the stand about his relationship with Annie. He’s attempting to prove
Evan loved Annie. After making comments clearly related to his failed relationship with Janie,
4

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Bash asks Evan if he can look Annie in the eyes and say he never loved her. Evan stares at Annie,
then looks away while saying he never loved her.
Pindar manages to leave the house and get into Carmen’s car. He immediately vomits into her
windshield.
Karp succeeds in separating the airline from the case, placing the case squarely on Donegan’s
shoulders. Afterwards the guys apologize to Donegan. Franklin and Bash agree they can’t let this
happen.
Carmen tells Pindar that Franklin is planning to show up at TranSky shareholder meeting.
She points out that not many firms would have taken a chance on them: ”An ex-con and an
agoraphob who is terrified of birds.” Carmen thinks the owe the guys.
We see Pindar get onto a public bus as Franklin pulls up at the shareholders meeting. Both
Franklin and Bash explain to Infeld what Karp and Bryan pulled with the paid-off witness. Just
as they have to admit that they didn’t actually see the conference room plotting themselves,
Pindar take the microphone and begins to tell his story. Franklin stops him and tells Bryant to
re-hire Donegan and release a statement calling him a hero. They agree and Infeld promptly tells
Bryan his firm will no long represent a ”scumbag.” Infeld takes Franklin and Bash aside and tells
them both he’s glad he hired them.
Annie is found not guilty. Janie takes Bash aside and tells him she is engaged. He feigns being
happy for her. He looks deeply into her eyes and says: ”I still got a shot.”
Back at the diner Franklin and Bash discuss whether taking a punch from Mike Tyson is too
much to make sleeping with Scarlett Johanasson worth it.
Pool Bikini Girl), Bashir Gavriel (Charlie), Shannon Guess (Lawyer),
Leslie Murphy (Annabelle), Roxana Ortega (Delmi Santiago), Ciel
Turich (Event Photographer), Karina Villegas (Infield Lawyer)
Summary: Franklin and Bash hold court when a woman is accused of using sex
as a means to kill her husband. The two young-gun lawyers suspect
the judge or jury is on the take, so they apply unconventional methods
to deliver justice.
Open with Franklin and Bash discussing
cinema while Bash works on his
tan. Debbie makes a crack about Bash
not being particularly firm. Bash spots an
attractive woman in the hall. He rushes
to the woman, Isabella, and it is clear that
she is a celebrity being charged with murdering
her husband. Karp makes a crack
about the senior partners voting Franklin
and Bash out at some point soon.
Infeld and Karp meet with Isabella.
She is being charged with killing her billionaire
husband Harry by having sex
with him to the point his weak heart gave
out. 20 minutes after sex Harry began
having trouble breathing and she called 911. Another factor is the fact Harry’s last words were
”she came upstairs to kill me.” Isabella has no idea why he said that.
Infeld decides a third attorney makes sense for a case this high profile. He tells Franklin and
Bash to decide amongst themselves, with the other getting a case involving his spiritual advisor.
When Carmen and Pindar won’t help them decide, Franklin steps aside when Bash says how
much taking the case means to him. Bash asks Carmen to reach out to the client.
The first day in court we meet Harry’s lawyer and friend, Wallace, clearly a jokester. Infeld
turns down an offer of negligent homicide from the DA. The DA tells the jury he will prove
Isabella killed Harry with her body in order to inherit his fortune. Infeld’s argument is that the
couple was simply in love and their sexual appetites were all they knew.
Franklin tells the gang a site called betwhatever.net set the odds of Isabella being found guilty
at 50 to 1. Strangely those odds got longer after Infeld’s strong opening statement. Franklin
thinks something is up and Carmen and Pindar are put on the case.
State witnesses say Harry and Isabella were advised against strenuous activity and there was
no heart medication found in his system. A paramedic testifies to Harry’s last words.
7

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Franklin meets with Infeld’s spiritual advisor. He gets a text from Carmen and tells the room
his wife just went into labor.
Wallace talks on the stand about Harry constantly butchering the punch line of jokes. He
also says Isabella recently came to asking about access to his money. He says he doesn’t think
Isabella murdered Harry but the judge doesn’t allow the statement.
Pindar and Carmen say a big bet was made against Isabella right after Infeld’s opening statement,
before anything was broadcast in the media. They’ve discovered the judge in the case,
Hong, has a huge credit card debt, the majority of which is through Vegas casino.
Bash tells Franklin he hates the idea of talking to Hong. Franklin talks him into it. Infeld will
direct Isabella on the stand.
Isabella says she checked on her finances because she intended to buy Harry a ranch for his
upcoming 60th birthday. She said they took sexual precautions, including having a safe word.
She did not know Harry wasn’t taking his heart meds.
Franklin talks to Judge Hong. She angrily talks about there being nothing wrong with her
using a credit card to buy into poker tournaments.
Upon cross examination the DA asks Isabella about the last moments of Harry’s life. She says
there were no argument or angry words exchanged. At this point the DA calls Harry and Isabella’s
housekeeper to the stand. She testifies that she heard Harry yelling ”No, no more. I don’t want
that. Go away! Enough is enough!”
Outside the courtroom Isabella said Harry was talking about not wanting to take his heart
medication because it dulled his sensations. She lied earlier about not knowing that Harry wasn’t
taking his meds. Despite she will look like a liar, the plan is to put her back on the stand to clear
up what the housekeeper heard.
Isabella says on the stand that she lied about the medications in order to stick with a story
she told in panic to the police. On cross the DA points out she lied under oath.
Carmen got a hold of the browsing history of the jurors. Pindar notices that juror No. 5’s
wedding registry recently was upgraded dramatically out of her financial range. They think food
must be the way she’s been communicating with the outside.
Carmen distracts a guard so that Franklin and Bash can inspect the jurors’ food. They figure
out which meal makes the most sense for a soon-to-be bride.
Isabella comes to Infeld’s office with a confession. Harry had been jealous of her friendship
with Wallace. To prove there was nothing going on she intentionally increased her sexual intensity
to previously unseen levels. Isabella feels like she unintentionally killed Harry while trying to
prove she loved him.
Franklin and Carmen stop juror No. 5’s tray on its way back through the kitchen. The plate
contains a note with the current guilty/not guilty standing of the jurors. The guys in charge of
moving the food said his job was just to fax the info to a sports book. They want him to pull the
fire alarm so they can talk to the juror herself.
Carmen takes juror No. 5 aside during the drill. A relative is paying her 50 grand to provide
updates. She just wanted to give herself a better honeymoon. She says now a few of the jurors
(including herself) aren’t sure if Isabella is guilty or not.
Infeld’s team goes back and forth about how to handle this information. Franklin mentions
there is a way to get ride of the juror without having a mistrial.
Outside of court Wallace tells Isabella and her lawyers a few jokes. Based on conversation
with Franklin it’s clear he hates when people butcher jokes. After Wallace leaves Isabella tells
her lawyers that Wallace always had a thing for her.
Bash calls Wallace to the stand. He directs him to the subject of jokes, specifically one with a
punch line very similar to Harry’s last words. It was a joke features on one of Wallace and Harry’s
favorite joke sites just days before he died. Wallace eventually admits that Harry must have been
telling the paramedic a joke when he said the thing about his wife coming upstairs to kill him.
Wallace’s jealousy kept him from being honest.
Infeld’s closing statement deals with Harry wanting to live (or die) on his own terms. He
doesn’t think they can send her to prison for loving her husband. At this point Juror No. 5 has
a full-fledged freak-out about her wedding and has to be taken out of the courtroom. ”She really
commits, doesn’t she, Bash says.”
Franklin tries to keep the lie going, but Infeld’s spiritual advisor calls him out on not actually
having just had a baby. Franklin agrees to handle his case for free.
8

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
The jury finds Isabella not guilty of murder. Outside the courtroom Infeld invites Karp, Bash
and Franklin to a celebration, admitting that he bet on himself to win the case at 50 to 1. After
Infeld and Karp leave Franklin admits that he also bet, but it seems he put the cash on the other
side.
Summary: A woman wants to see if she has any legal grounds for suing the men’s
magazine for wrongful termination. The man in the office will have to
learn how to do without modern technology after having too much of
it in the office maybe the cause of the server crashing.
Open with the guys having their internet
service knocked off line. Tech expert
buddy Gene comes over to fix it and tells
them he’s being forced to move to Chicago
because someone in accused him stealing
something. He lives in Chinatown and is
being shunned.
Infeld presents two new cases to the
partners. A former employee at a Playboylike
men’s magazine claims she was fired
for being too pretty. The wife of an important
client was arrested for public urination.
Franklin wants the magazine case
and bets Karp that they’ll win the case,
wagering their office against his prized
guitar.
The girl who claims the magazine fired her for being too attractive, Jennifer, shows up and
the guys are disappointed she isn’t exactly model material. They try to get out of their bet with
Karp but he isn’t biting.
Jennifer was the assistant to the publisher (Katherine Mack). She describes what appears to
be general politeness and seems to have an inflated sense of her appearance. She isn’t interested
in settling, feeling as if she’s an important figure for ”beautiful women.”
The guys talk to the storeowner accusing Gene of stealing a rabbit. He has no interest in
taking down a large sign indicating Gene is a thief. They plan an injunction.
11

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
The guys go to the magazine and find the place crawling with attractive women. Katherine
offers her a glowing recommendation if she drops the suit, but the guys aren’t biting. She shows
them some performance memos. She won’t introduce them to her father ”Big Mack.”
Infeld seems impressed by Jennifer’s confidence.
Jennifer tells the guys the performance memos weren’t true, that Katherine was upset she
didn’t get surgery offered by the company. They excuse her and debate dropping the case. Based
on what Hanna tells them about Infeld’s reaction to her, they think Jennifer was probably discriminated
against for not being attractive enough. They’re just not sure how to tell her.
The guys say they will take Jennifer’s case but are unable to tell her why they think they’ll
win.
Franklin suggests forcing the magazine to define beauty. Gene calls wanting to show them
something.
Franklin and Bash’s face has been posted all over Chinatown, along with a negative description
of them and the firm. He tells them Western courts can’t help him in Chinatown; his only
hope is to get a hearing with ”The Counsel.”
Infeld rips the guys for being insensitive of local customs. He has heard of the elders who
preside over the The Counsel and tells them they must find a way to get him a hearing. Infeld
and Karp are going to take over Gene’s case.
Bash argues in his opening remarks that Jennifer didn’t deserve to be fired for how she looks,
dancing around the fact she isn’t ”traditionally attractive.”
Karp and Infeld introduce themselves to the store owner. Infeld speaks to the man in Chinese
and seems to make some inroads. Infeld seems to notice something about the man’s daughter,
Tonia.
Hanna drops by the guy’s place wanting to help on Jennifer’s case in order to stick it to
Karp. She tells ”beauty can make people do irrational things” and they must show the jury that
Jennifer’s beauty drove the magazine to its actions.
One the stand Jennifer tells the magazine’s counsel she is more beautiful than the models in
its pages. Bash begins asking her questions and the two appear to hit it off, eventually becoming
entranced by other. They start to kiss. Hanna stands up and apologizes for Bash’s actions.
Katherine comes to the guys with a settlement offer. Franklin counters with a decent offer
but Bash cuts him off. He thinks the jury sees Jennifer differently and it almost seems he’s
legitimately interested in her himself.
That night Franklin wonders why Katherine would have upped her offer. They recall that she
seemed to hide Big Mack from them.
The guys have the firm buy a table at a fundraiser in order to try and talk to Big Mack.
At the event Katherine seems very upset that Jennifer is there. They watch her on Big Mack’s
shoulders in the pool. The two seem to get along great. Bash chats up Big Mack, who seems like
the ultimate ladies man. He says he wanted Jennifer to be his assistant but Katherine told her
”she wasn’t good.”
Gene tells Infeld he was feeding his pet python that day and had fully intended on paying for
the rabbit. Infeld thinks there was a reason Gene didn’t shop at the much cheaper market across
the street.
On the stand Big Mack tells Hanna that Jennifer was a ”good kid” and compares her to his
daughter. She points out that Katherine and Jennifer were two of the few women in the building
he hadn’t slept with. Katherine is on the stand next. She seems to indicate to Franklin that her
father may have preferred Jennifer to her as a daughter-figure.
Infeld gets an audience of the counsel of elders – Chinatown’s merchants association – and
brings Tonia forward. She tells her father that she loves Gene, despite his shortcomings. Tonia
tells her father that her relationship with Gene won’t change her obligations with him. He asks
them to allow Gene to continue to live his dream.
In closing Franklin argues that Jennifer stole the spotlight from Katherine and was, in fact,
fired for being ”too beautiful.” Outside the courtroom Big Mack asks Jennifer what she wants. She
says she wants her job back and wants the company’s plastic surgery fund given to Operation
Smile. He agrees and makes her his assistant.
The guys have a party celebrating Gene staying in town. Karp stops by with his guitar. Jennifer
is also there hanging out and the internet service has been restored.
Summary: Peter represents an old friend of Jared’s who apparently is also his
enemy but while representing his client, Peter begins to see his client
in a different way. Jared is the lead lawyer on a divorce case but history
between a husband and wife prevents the husband and wife from
settling the divorce amicably.
Open with Franklin and Bash playing
pool with a bunch of party goers in what
turns out to be Karp’s office. Franklin is
telling everyone he never slept with Hannah.
Karp, Hannah and Infeld head that
way and we learn they are representing
a woman in divorce proceedings. He’s
apparently admitted to cheating which
should trigger an infidelity clause.
When they arrive we see Franklin
and Bash are pretending it’s Karp’s 50th
birthday. Franklin and Karp are going
back and forth over Hannah. We learn the
woman is Maya Paxson, wife of famous
millionaire and adventurer Rick.
Back at their place the guys are visited by former acquaintance Danny Dubois, who Franklin
clearly doesn’t like. He’s a former hedge fund employee who recently got in a fight defending a
buddy at a strip club and is being charged with assault. Franklin doesn’t like the idea.
In the car Bash talks Franklin into helping Danny out and they meet with Janie. The case is
just bar brawl and the club doesn’t want to press charges. She says she’ll put in a good word
with Ellen (who hates them), the ADA who’ll be taking the case.
Things get contentious during the Paxson’s arbitration, primarily driven by counsel. Both
sides claim the other was cheating.
During Danny’s first appearance in court Ellen says the new charge is DUI (while driving a
golf cart), adding that Danny hit an out-of-uniform cop during the fight.
Outside the courtroom Ellen complains she’s bitter Janie has been promoted. Danny says he
only had two beers that night, that he was at home with his grandmother. Danny lost his job and
ended up finding he enjoyed spending time with his grandmother and her friends. If he loses he
license he won’t be able to drive his grandmother around.
The guys run into Maya, who talks about the possibility of their divorce going to trial. Franklin
admits that keeping the situation going benefits both law firms.
13

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Pindar tells the guys how much he loves old people and wants to interview Danny’s grandmother’s
friends. Infeld says Maya so enjoyed Franklin’s honesty that she wants him on the
panel. Infeld asks Bash about the rumors of romance between partners. He says nothing.
During his video interview with the elderly set, Pindar becomes particularly fascinated by
Nannate, one of Danny’s grandmother’s buddies who were there the night of the face. She says
Danny had less than two beers and she still has the rest of the six-pack in her fridge.
Prior to the next arbitration Franklin spoke with Maya about smoothing things over. But that
quickly flies out the window as both sides have damaging photos of them with the same woman.
The lawyers argue more, with the couple attempting to get a few words in edge-wise. At one point
Rick admits the cheating, but says he still loves Maya.
Nannette is a hit on the stands, as Bash demonstrates that for a woman in her 70s she is
incredibly sharp, proving her ability to recall how many drinks Danny had that night.
Carmen finds the woman from the pictures with the Paxsons. She says she never had sex
with Rick, but hints it almost happened.
On cross Ellen points out that Nannette is a former prostitute, basically killing her credibility.
Carmen tells Hanna and Franklin about what the woman told her. They don’t understand
why Rick would admit to sex that didn’t actually happen. Franklin thinks that it could be that
Rick had erection issues.
Bash tells Franklin a rising blood alcohol defense is next for Danny, that they must prove he
wasn’t drunk when he drove the cart since the alcohol hadn’t hit his system until he took the
breathalyzer test. Franklin wants to talk to Rick alone, a clear violation of ethics. Bash hates the
idea.
Franklin gets Rick in an elevator and tells him to come to his place and give him a few minutes
of his time.
At that night’s party Danny tells Franklin he doesn’t even remember why they don’t get along.
Nannette shows up just ahead of Rick. Franklin tells Rick he recently had a problem with impotence
while with Hannah. This leads to Rick confessing he had issues getting it up. Given
Rick’s reputation he couldn’t have the world know he had such a problem. Watching everybody
drinking gives Bash and idea for Danny’s trial.
Hannah tells Franklin to stop telling people they didn’t have sex. She’s a big girl and doesn’t
care what people think.
To prove a point Franklin stands up during Danny’s trial and shotguns two beers. They then
have the cop on the stand administer a breathalyzer test. This test registers .01, while one taken
15 minutes later comes up .09. The officer must admit it’s possible Danny wasn’t drunk when
he was driving the golf cart.
Outside the courtroom Franklin gets a call from Karp that he’s needed for the divorce case.
He’s too drunk to drive so Bash goes in his place.
Bash doesn’t return in time and a drunken Franklin asks for a continuance. The judge says
no, meaning he must give the closing argument. The tipsy Franklin makes the point that Danny
should not receive a DUI conviction, along with complimenting him for spending time with his
grandmother and defending a friend.
Bash guards the door and allows the Paxson to sit together and work out their issues without
counsel present. Inside the room Rick tells Maya his infidelity with her scared him, which is why
he looked outside the marriage. He says he’ll tear up the pre-nup if given another chance.
Infeld hints that he isn’t generally opposed to sex within the workplace.
Franklin of course wins Danny’s case. Outside the courtroom Danny tells him that he actually
showered with Bash’s girlfriend, not his. Franklin pukes in the elevator.
Summary: Jared is put against his own father in court over a collectible baseball
from 1988 after one member of the opposing family sues another one.
Peter and Hannah work on defending a reality television star with a
nasty nickname. Karp gets help on how to deal with a dirty video in
court.
Shockingly we open with Franklin and
Bash acting immaturely in the office. Infeld
shows up with new client Duncan
Morrow and his daughter Eileen. Duncan
caught Kirk Gibson’s famous home
run ball, but after Eileen had it authenticated
her brothers have decided to sue
in order to sell the ball. Huge baseball
fan Franklin is behind Duncan’s desire to
keep the ball 100 percent.
The guys meet with Duncan’s sons,
Greg and Colin. The law states whoever
catches a home run owns it, and they
claim they caught the ball ”together.”
After the meeting Franklin thinks they
should be able to win the case easily, as the brothers’ attorney is a moron. Bash reminds him of
a time in school where overconfidence cost him.
Hanna asks one of the guys to help her defend the ”Douchey Dad,” a Jon Gosselin clone
named Ronnie who wants out of a reality show he thinks is making him look bad and keeping
him from his kids. Bash is drafted.
Karp tells the guys he needs help getting something that was sent to him off the firm’s server.
They suspect porn.
As Franklin begins to describe Duncan’s case to the judge he and Bash are stunned when
Franklin’s father, Leonard, walks in the door. He is the brothers’ new attorney.
Afterwards Franklin tells Infeld he can handle going up against his supremely talented father.
Carmen and Pindar discuss that Franklin turned down an opportunity to work with his father.
Karp shows up to see Pindar. He has Pindar sign a gag order before viewing the file to delete. It
turns out Karp was having trouble sleeping during a sleep study and pleasured himself to help
the process. The company sent the file to him, which is why it is on the firm’s server.
Franklin puts Greg on the stage and proves he isn’t actually a fan of the Dodgers.
15

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Bash subpoenas the realty shows footage in order to see if Ronnie has been portrayed out of
context. On the way out of the courtroom they run into the show’s producer, Lucian, and he and
Ronnie get into it.
Leonard is attempting to make the case that Greg and Colin are owed the ball based on a
casual promise Duncan made to them when they were acting up. This leads to Franklin behaving
unprofessionally while objecting to his father’s line of questioning and getting a warning from the
judge.
Franklin admits to Bash he let emotion get the better of him when trying to counter his dad’s
argument.
Hanna tells Carmen (who is in charge of looking through Ronnie’s tapes) that she really can’t
stand the guy.
Franklin puts Colin on the stand and gets him and his brother to argue like cats and dogs.
He then points out that the original promise Duncan made to his sons was ”when you two grow
up and stop acting like a couple of nitwits I’ll give you the ball back.” The judge allows the jury
to consider this.
Outside the courtroom Franklin confidently tells his dad he thinks he just won the case. At
that very moment Duncan is almost hit by a bus. A few seconds later he falls to the ground.
At Duncan’s funeral Leonard tells Franklin that Duncan didn’t have a will, meaning the ball
will go the sons. Franklin doesn’t seem ready to concede.
A gossip website is linking Ronnie with Hanna based on a picture. She seems to be realizing
what he has to deal with and has an idea for how to get him out of the contract.
The baseball is missing. Leonard tells the judge that Franklin told him he was planning to
spend some time with the ball before Duncan’s death. He’s convinced Franklin has it, but his
son says no.
Leonard had Franklin thrown in jail for contempt. Bash shows up with Eileen who says she
buried her father with the ball.
Leonard tells the judge that Duncan must be exhumed, that as executor of the estate he must
protect all assets. Franklin protests but Leonard eventually wins the argument.
After Bash shows film of the shows’ producer saying inappropriate things about Ronnie and
his children while filming, Ronnie walks over and punches Lucian in the face in front of the
judge. But this doesn’t seem to worry Hanna.
In the process of trying to delete Karp’s file the firm’s automatic IT security forwards the video
to several circuit court judges.
While Duncan’s body is exhumed Franklin tells his father he didn’t became a lawyer to just
win. He wants to do the right thing. Franklin is still mad his father made them leave that game
before the game-winning home run, probably to see his mistress. Inside the coffin they find a
letter from Duncan.
The letter (which even Eileen didn’t know about) says specifically that the ball cannot be let
to anyone who wanted to dig him up.
Hanna and Bash tells Ronnie that by being charged with the crime he can get out of his
contract. He is ecstatic.
Franklin learns that Infeld knows Leonard. Infeld assures him that the relationship with his
father had nothing to do his being hired.
Summary: Franklin and Bash think they finally hit the jackpot after a wealthy
CEO wants to secure their services. Franklin and bash soon find out
that the CEO has some questionable practices that would put the law
firm in some legal trouble. Hannah and Karp need help in learning
how to get new clients to the firm.
A girl in a bikini and a bald middleaged
man rollerskate into the firm. Karp
takes one look at them and assumes
they’re there to see Franklin and Bash.
Indeed, they are. He found Margot on
the boardwalk and followed her F&B sunscreen
tattoo promoting them.
F&B are arguing because Bash says
Franklin is leaving his toenail clippings
in the sink. Franklin demands proof.
Their new hands them a backpack full
of cash –their retainer. He’s Carter Lang,
the CEO who paid himself $20 million as
his company went bankrupt. He says he
wants to try to compensate people who
suffered from his decisions. He just found out he has two months to live. ”I have the prostate of
a 19 year old, but the pancreas of a zombie,” he says.
He wants to ”aggressively liquidate” his assets. He assures them it’ll help pay back some of
the people he screwed over.
Infeld isn’t impressed, but they assure him they feel good about it. He’s worried about the
blowback for representing Lang.
They come home to find Debbie in their apartment with briefs from Carter’s office. They give
her advice on text flirting.
Back at the firm, Karp is trying to land Abba Jia, the founder of Madeline Exports. Hanna
suggests they rope Pindar in as an Indian token. He’s all for it.
Carter visits the boys, announcing he has a problem. Franklin says they might have found a
way to liquidate half of his assets. But then they see the cops following Lang in. He introduces
them to John Still, who wants him arrested for stealing his boat. Carter winks at the boys, asking
where he’d hide the proceeds of that offshore sale.
Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
At the courthouse, the new blond prosecutor tells them she’s been promoted to major crimes.
The judge sets his bail at $1 million. Carter signals someone in the gallery, who brings up $1
million in cash.
Pindar teleconferences with Karp and Hanna. Carmen tries to answer for him, saying he’ll
stick with Franklin and Bash.
F & B follows Carter outside. He doesn’t deny that he’s not exactly liquidating company assets.
He muses that a food vendor cart would be a good way to break into a house.
Pindar tells Franklin and Bash why he wants to work with Karp. Carmen suggests they learn
to be more appreciative of the things people do. The phone rings.
Cut to F &B meeting Carter as he gets arrested after going on a naked jog. He claims he thinks
the investors will feel better if they see him humiliated. They’re not sure they believe him.
Back before the same bail judge, they argue it’s a misdemeanor. He goads the prosecutor into
raising his bail to $10 million and she’s about to sign off when Carter’s partner John comes
in with a cop. He accuses Carter of breaking into his house, drinking an $8,000 bottle of wine
and stealing $5 million in bearer bonds. Carter motions to the boys that was more. The judge
remands him.
Franklin reports back from talking to Carter’s doctor. Bad news.
They visit him in lock up. He was misdiagnosed. He’s fine.
Karp and Hanna begin their teleconference without Pindar who is late. When he pops up, the
potential client is offended at their blatant ploy to use someone who looks like her. Then he starts
talking about his phobias and hand sanitizers and they realize they’re kindred spirits. She wants
to meet in person, but he’s agoraphobic, so she’ll come to him. Karp and Hanna aren’t thrilled.
In court, Franklin asks Stills if he got his bearer bonds through illegally given bonuses. When
he won’t answer, Franklin tells him about their landlady taking their TV once when they were
seven months behind on rent. It wasn’t stealing, it was the doctrine of right to self-help, which
allows citizens to take matters into their own hands. The judge doesn’t go for it.
Back in his cell, Carter mentions that his office sent them blueprints and files of Stills’ house
before he robbed it, which would make them accessories. He tells them to get Stills’ to take back
some of his cash for dropping the charges.
Abba Jia comes by Pindar’s apartment, offering him a Pez dispenser from her personal collection.
The apartment is immaculate and he impresses.
F & B run things by Infeld, who says their still his lawyers. They wonder why Carter only went
after Stills.
They go ask him. He says a year ago the board voted him CEO, replacing Carter and he’s
bitter.
At their meeting, Abba notices something on the fridge that says ”Proof.” She goes to inspect
and sees that it’s toenail clippings. She tries to keep from throwing up as she leaves. (It’s the
proof Bash demanded earlier.)
In their office, Franklin wonders how bad it would be if their lost Carter’s case, thereby taking
a bad guy off the street. Franklin bets him a dart throw. Infeld encourages it. Franklin hits his
bullseye, meaning they tank the case.
Pindar calls Hanna with a suggestion for Abba’s zoning problem. Hanna’s on her way to a
lunch with Jia and all the lawyers wooing her. Pindar wants to go, but worries about actually
going there.
In court, Bash asks Carter about revenge then asks him about his super high security fence
and many ex-wives. He irritates Carter, telling him to shut up. The judge threatens a mistrial.
Franklin tells Bash to keep his foot on the gas.
At the restaurant meeting, lawyers give their pitches. Abba wants to hear what they’ll do for
her. Carmen delivers fortune cookies. They cite zoning laws and how to conform to code. Abba is
impressed.
Back in trial, Franklin continues to, uh, bash his client, then asks if he’s trying to change.
Carter goes along, saying he is. Franklin mentions that Carter is giving away $100 million of his
personal fortune and committing to volunteer work in Haiti and Carter has to agree to that as
well with his share holders looking on.
The judge calls everybody up and asks Carter if he’ll plead to a lesser charge and do everything
he just promised in exchange for no jail time. He does.
Summary: Franklin and Bash may find themselves having trouble representing
pole dancers who are charged with stealing from clients. But the case
may change direction because their relationship may be called into
question. Karp and Hannah tried to see if they can allow a young boy
to sail across the Amazon even if it goes against the family’s wishes.
Open with the guys at a jail talking to
”erotic aerobic instructors” Amber and Simone
who have been arrested after teaching
a pole dancing class when a $50,000
ring was found in their workout bag. Another
necklace is also missing.
Infeld is meeting with 13-year old
Alex Carlisle who wants to become the
youngest kayaker to solo the Amazon. His
father won’t let him and he wants to stop
the injunction. Karp doesn’t want to take
the case, but Hanna is supportive.
During Amber and Simone’s first appearance
in court the guys get them released
on their own recognizance. We
learn they are being charged with drugging the women and that value of the two stolen items
was $350,000. The guys are up against Janie.
The toxicology report showed the women had a rare French vicodine in their systems. The
women said they left when the class started getting crazy. The cops searched their shared the
bag the next morning at Amber’s apartment, but it was Simone who let the police in. The guys
think they can get the ring thrown out for illegal search and seizure. Amber and Simone walk in
and tell the guys that Simone does have a record from when she was a stripper, but was arrested
under a stage name.
The judge rules the ring is admissible because the defendants shared the apartments. Janie
says an upstairs bedroom door (which contained the still missing stolen necklace) had Simone’s
fingerprints on the doorknob. Simone says she went up to use the bathroom but Amber is still
pissed.
Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Bash suggests to Infeld that they put up a Chinese wall between the two women, with each
taking one. The interesting dynamic is that their first loyalty will be their individual case. Infeld
gives his blessing, calling it ”Franklin vs. Bash.”
The guys tell Amber and Simone they won’t be able to discuss the case with each other.
Simone wants to have the better attorney which creates a debate over who is best.
Karp and Hanna tell Alex he may have to take the stand to prove he is competent to paddle
the river. He asks if either of them want children. Hanna is surprised that Alex and his father
seem to be on good terms despite the lawsuit.
Franklin (who is representing Simone) and Bash each interview the women who were robbed
separately. The women are resolute that they were drugged and then robbed.
Janie shows up to see both guys with an offer: Whichever women comes to her first gets off
with no jail time, the other one gets ten years.
Franklin questions Mike Bennett, a painter who worked on the site of the robbery to prepare
it for a commercial, on the stand. He admits that he may not have placed the doors back in the
same spots after re-painting so it’s possible Simone never went into the room where the jewelry
was located.
On the stand Alex proves he had a knowledge of dangerous insects he could encounter.
Janie comes to Bash and tells him that Franklin is kicking his butt. She thinks he should
take the deal.
On cross Alex’s father’s attorney points out that during his only real outdoor experience he
went home. When the lawyer badgers him Alex begins to cry . . . but wait, he was just kidding,
proving to everyone how tough he is.
Franklin and Bash are starting to argue at home. The argument starts getting personal, with
Franklin pointing out that Janie dumped him.
Bash and Franklin go see Janie and argue while trying to get the deal for their client. But
listening to them sell each other out makes her thinks she can win and Jamie removes the offer.
Bash locks Franklin’s briefcase, making it difficult for him to get to a piece of evidence. On
the stand Simone has several negative things to say about Ambers’ business background. But
when Bash cross-examines he brings up the secret arrest she had told the guys about earlier.
Franklin looks stunned.
Alex has something of a crush on Hanna, bringing her a pizza to their next meeting. Alex tells
his attorneys that his dad got divorced while he was away and that was why he returned home
from outward bound.
Bash has Amber explain some of the earlier issues with her business background. Franklin
has sabotaged Bash’s chair, causing him to fall to the ground. During cross Franklin points out
that following surgery two months ago she was prescribed the exact drug found in the robbed
women’s system.
At the diner the guys talk about breaking a pact that no case would ever come between them.
They start talking about their legal history together and seem to make up.
The guys tell Amber and Simone that the best thing for them is for them to be together. They
women agree.
Karp being threatened by Alex gives Hanna an idea. They then witness Alex having to calm
his father down on the phone. She thinks the father should go on the stand.
The girls realize that they were only given $2,000, despite the clients’ claim they paid them
five grand. They wonder where the money went and the French doctor who performed Amber’s
surgery is mentioned.
Pinder learns the host of the party may have been having money problems. And one the day
after the robbery she visited her bank but did not make a withdrawal.
Alex’s father is put on the stand. It quickly becomes clear that Alex basically takes care of
him. The father seems to be worried about being left alone while Alex is on the river. The father
then tells Alex he can go on the trip.
The guys bring the judge information that the victim may have access to the drugs via the
doctor. They want to subpoena her safe deposit box but the judge doesn’t allow it.
The woman claiming to be robbed – a Mrs. McDowell – is put on the stand. She had her
necklace appraised very recently and he points out that she needed the value of the item to save
her house. Franklin then tricks the judge into letting him introduce into evidence a prescription
for the French vicodine that McDowell had filled just two days before the supposed robbery. Bash
22

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
takes over and gets her to admit she had the drugs because of breast augmentation surgery and
figured that the staged robbery would help the insurance company more smoothly pay her for
the necklace.
Infeld shows up after the trial and gives Janie a present for her engagement party he won’t be
able to attend. Infeld congratulated the guys on their win and it seems he intentionally allowed
them to split so they would appreciate the relationship.
Alex thanks his father for dropping the case. Karp make reference to how good Hanna was
with Alex.
Franklin and Bash have a huge party. It is clear they are back together.
shenanigans. Meanwhile, a visit by Infeld’s niece goes up in
smoke when she’s busted for marijuana possession by a judge; the
arrival of Carmen’s boyfriend has legal consequences.
We open with Franklin and Bash running
into a new attractive woman in the
office it turns out she is Lilly, Infeld’s
niece he has intentionally kept away from
the guys while in town.
Carmen says she did ”something
stupid” last night and Pindar can’t find
his light sabers.
Franklin and Bash borrowed the light
sabers and fought with them in court.
They are given 72 hours of house arrest
by the judge.
House arrest means partying at the
compound and the guys are pleasantly
surprised when Lilly shows up to hang
out. She seems interested in Bash and Franklin reminds him of what could happen if he gets
involved.
We see Carmen with Dante, who appears to be an ex-boyfriend and the ”something stupid”
from the night before. They are both on parole but against her better judgment she sleeps with
him again.
Two K-9 cops show up after Franklin took the trash out to the street, violating the perimeter
of the arrest. Their dog smells something.
Lilly is flirting with Bash but he’s resisting. The police find a huge bag of weed in Lilly’s bag.
Bag in Carmen’s room Dante sees the cop car and takes off.
An angry Karp finally returns the guys’ messages to say he’s on his way to Lilly’s arraignment.
Bash tosses in a request for him to ask for a continuance in their insurance case. Marla, a temp,
shows up to help the guys work at home. Carmen admits to being with Dante, which upsets
everybody. She says the quality of the sex is so good she craves it.
The court takes possession of Lilly’s passport. She says she want to stay with Franklin and
Bash.
25

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Carmen finds a bag in her room and makes a face. Lilly tells the guys and Karp that her plan
was to smuggle the stronger American pot home to London for a friend going through chemo.
Franklin and Bash disagree with Karp’s plan for her defense. Infeld (who still doesn’t know
what happened to Lilly) calls the guys. He says he’s being brought an intellectual property case
involving video games and wants a tutorial from the guys. He can’t wait until their back in the
office and says he’s coming over. Carmen walks in and dumps a pile of cash Dante left in a bag
in her room.
The bag contained $100,000 and given Dante’s background of assault Bash isn’t sure turning
the money into the authorities is smart. Infeld shows up, still under the impression Lilly is in
Europe. Bash sneaks away to another room with Lilly, who immediately talks about ”danger sex.”
They start to go at it.
Carmen is sad Dante hasn’t returned like he promised.
The cops return wanting to talk to Carmen about calls she’s made to Dante. They also suspect
she may be hiding money he’s stolen in Arizona. Karp arrives and sees that Lilly was fooling
around with Bash. They try to turn over the money but find that it’s missing. They still take
Carmen in for the parole violation.
Infeld has heard Lilly wasn’t on her flight. Karp tells him she’s at his place and he’ll put her
on the next flight.
Janie shows up looking for Lilly. He admits to sleeping with Lilly and she seems a tad on the
jealous side.
It turns out Marla moved the paint cans containing the cash to her house. The guys are
relieved. Dante shows up looking for Carmen and tells them he’s changed. He pulls a gun when
the guys tell him his bag isn’t there. They tell him they’ll take him to where the money is.
Since the guys are wearing ankle bracelets the cops eventually start to follow them. With the
sirens in the background they talk Dante into letting them help him.
The guys get an additional two days of house arrest and Pindar tell them that nobody at the
firm is available to handle Carmen’s case. The only one left Pindar, who begins panicking at the
suggestion. Karp tells the guys that weed lozenges were found in the lining of her bag, increasing
her charge.
A shockingly confident and relaxed Pindar puts Carmen on the stand and has her talk about
the physical need she had for Dante.
Pindar gives the guys an update from the courtroom, telling them that he ate what he believed
to be pot muffins before leaving. Inexplicably Franklin tells him he threw out the pot muffins and
what he at were normal muffins. Pindar begins to panic.
Pindar tries to get a continuance but is denied by the judge. A sex expert testifies to what
happens during the act of sex.
The offer of three years probation and 1,000 hours of pro bona work under Bash’s supervision
is offered by Karp for Lilly. The judge is okay with it, but Janie suggests she not be allowed to
return to the U.S. for ten years. Infeld walks into the courtroom to personally take Lilly to the
airport. He’s happy with Karp’s work.
Dante enters the courtroom. The deal is that if Dante turns himself in Carmen will be let
go. The money mysteriously is located in a briefcase near the prosecutor’s desk. Dante says he
wants them to get back together after he gets out. She kisses him.
(Infeld Lawyer)
Summary: Following the events of his bachelor party, Janie?s fiancée finds himself
seeking the legal counsel of Peter Bash to get out of a precarious
legal snafu. Jared heads back to his high school alma mater for a case
involving a teacher charged with sleeping with her underaged student.
We open with a guy approaching the
guys downstairs at the firm. It’s Nathan
Connor, Janie’s fiancé. He’s wants Bash
to be his lawyer.
Bash tells Franklin he wants to take
the case, primariyt to prove he’s over
Janie.
Karp walks by in casual clothes. He’s
giving a big interview and when Infeld
suggests he send the reporter to him Karp
passes.
Franklin has a meeting with a teacher
who was terminated for sleeping with her
student. She did it, but says it occurred
before the school year began and she
thought he was 21. She was fired by a private school, Hightower, which happens to be Franklin’s
alma mater. She sought him out intentionally.
Nathan tells Bash he’s gotten busted for solicitation at his bachelor party. Janie doesn’t know
yet, but his yoga teacher recommended and Janie has said in the past he knows prostitutes.
Nathan mentions that a body candle caused a fire at the hotel. The hotel pressed charges since
the room was on Nathan’s credit card and Bash says this charge now means he’s facing jail time.
Franklin tells Bash that Chris, the guy the teacher (Emily) slept with posted pictures online
that made their way to the administration. He’s 18 and was using a fake ID to buy her drinks at
a bar. Bash’s father donated a wing at the school.
Nathan tells the guys he’s not into stripper and never wanted a bachelor party. He left when
the hooker showed up and came back an hour later just as vice was making their bust. Franklin
points out that vice often picks a John so they can have a clean arrest. Nathan wants to try and
see how long he can go in this process without Janie finding out.
27

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Janie of course finds out the next day, immediately after Bash worded out a deal for Nathan
to avoid major charges by pleading guilty. When Nathan tells her he never slept with anybody
she wants him to plead not guilty and have Bash get him off.
Emily tells Franklin that Chris told her he was a college student. She told him she was a
teacher, but didn’t say where. Emily didn’t know he was in high school until she saw him in her
class.
Karp gives the reporter a long line of BS of how great of a guy he is. He wants to interview
Infeld and says if he’s not in the article it won’t get printed.
The guys pay Chris a visit at school. He basically blows them off, saying he’s not going to help
Emily.
Nathan drops by the guys place with some wine. Bash tells him he’s going to approach the
hooker when she appears in court on another issue. Reference is made to the fact Janie smokes
after sex.
The hooker basically admits to Bash that Nathan isn’t the guy she slept with (who took 55
minutes to finish). But she won’t change her story because if she does Vice will make her life
miserable.
Carmen tells the guys they should check-out the bar where Chris took Emily.
Nathan is back at the guys place again hanging out. Janie shows up, furious that Nathan
wasn’t answering his calls. Janie drags him out of there and argues with Bash.
The guys drop by the bar where Emily met Chris. She says he’d been in there a bunch of
times with older women.
Carmen found out hat someone used Nathan’s key card to access the pool area at the time
the hooker arrived.
Karp tells Infeld the reporter wants to talk with him. Karp wants to be a judge and is worried
Infeld will say he was hired due to nepotism. Infeld sees on TV that some hikers were lost on a
mountain where a friend of his had gone missing years earlier.
The Hightower principal tells Franklin that a corporate donation is on its way and he wants
the Emily situation to go away. When Franklin bluffs that he has multiple women ready to testify
Chris deceived them into believing he was 21, the principal said another student has come
forward to say he had an affair with Emily.
Emily tells Franklin this new student story is bogus. Since the kid is a minor the school isn’t
saying who he is.
Bash proves in court that it’s probable Nathan wasn’t in the room at the time the hooker
was there. Then the prosecution calls a bellhop who testifies to hearing Nathan tell a pretty girls
near the pool that ”whatever I’m paying you, it’s not enough.” After the session Janie storms
out of the courtroom. Nathan tells Bash the girl he was talking to was his assistant Lauren. He
is not having an affair with her, but Bash says he has to tell what happened or risk jail time.
Nathan wants to tell Janie, but Bash says he can’t give away his game plan to an attorney in the
prosecutor’s office.
Pindar locates the new student claiming an affair with Emily. His name is Rudy and he’s one of
her students. When Pindar reads Rudy’s account of the sex from a website Franklin immediately
recognizes the narrative.
The guys pop into one of Rudy’s classes. They tell him they know his story was ripped directly
from the plot of a soft-core adult cable film. Rudy wants to be a writer and they threaten to tell
his college he’s a plagiarist unless he tells the truth.
Janie comes to see Bash. He’s not supposed to tell her anything, but gives her a head’s up
that he has a surprise witness.
Lauren takes the stand and testifies her conversation was innocent, that what the bellhop
herd was a reference to her being a fantastic assistant. She then testifies that Nathan had been
having second thoughts about the wedding. Janie hears this. Afterwards she and Nathan argue.
He said he’s been worried he’s not exciting enough for her. She goes right for a cigarette and
Nathan yells that she shouldn’t fall off the wagon after six months. Janie leaves and Bash asks
how long its been since Nathan and her have had sex. He says its been six months, that they’ve
been abstaining in advance of their wedding to honor a Hindu tradition.
During Emily’s hearing at Hightower Franklin calls the bartender to the stand. She says she’s
witnessed Chris bring other women into her bar, including at least one woman in the room.
28

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Franklin then pauses before asking her to name the person and makes reference to the importance
of the upcoming corporate donation. This panics the principal who halts the proceedings.
Bash puts Janie on the stand. She testifies that they haven’t had sex in six months and Bash
makes reference to how amazing it would be if someone who hadn’t sex for that long could had
such remarkable sexual stamina.
The principal gives Emily her job back. Afterwards Franklin asks her out. The bartender says
the other woman Chris slept with was her, not a board member.
Infeld has glowing things to say about Karp to the reporter. He also learns that his friend’s
body was found.
Nathan is found not guilty. Afterwards Nathan tells Bash that he and Janie are considering
pushing back the wedding. Bash gives him a pep-talk and convinces him he has nothing to worry
about.
Go Tell It on the Mountain
Season 1
Episode Number: 10
Season Episode: 10
Originally aired: Wednesday August 3, 2011
Writer: Bill Chais
Director: Jason Ensler
Show Stars: Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Peter Bash), Breckin Meyer (Jared Franklin),
Malcolm McDowell (Stanton Infeld), Dana Davis (Carmen Phillips), Kumail
Nanjiani (Pindar Singh), Reed Diamond (Damien Karp), Garcelle
Beauvais-Nilon (Hanna Linden)
Guest Stars: Tricia Helfer (Brett Cayman), Danny Trejo (Ultimo), Stephanie Carpentieri
(Infeld Daniels Receptionist), Patrick Falls (Judge Viapando),
Muse Watson (Officer Tom Werth)
Summary: Franklin and Bash have their biggest case: they are requested by the
founding member of the firm to help clear Stanton Infeld of murder
charges with the help of a high-profile attorney. But things start to
go the wrong way when Damian decides to put his job on the line
to try and save his uncle from being charged with murder. Hannah
represents a wrestler who wants to try to get his job back even though
his employer claims he was too old.
We open with the guys interviewing a
luchadore (masked professional wrester)
named Ultimo who is being forced by his
league to remove his mask and surrender
his character because they think he is too
old. Franklin seems interested in Ultimo’s
daughter.
Infeld and an attractive woman enter
the court room with him assuring her
that everything will be okay. It turns out
the woman is well-known attorney Brett
Cayman and she is there defending Infeld
for first-degree murder. He pleads not
guilty and is not given bail.
Everybody from the firm is called into
that office and informed by Cayman (who is from the firm’s New York office) that Infeld is being
charged with killing former best friend, Gibson Hawk. Hawk went missing 15 years ago when
they were climbing Mt. McKinley and his body was just found a few days ago. Cayman will be
overseeing the case and handling the media. She places Franklin, Bash and Karp in charge of
the trial. Karp doesn’t seem to care for her.
Cayman takes Franklin and Bash to see Hawk’s body. The medical examiner tells them Hawk
was killed by a knife wound to the stomach. The weapon was a hiking knife with Infeld’s name
inscribed on the handle.
In prison Infeld admits to the team that he did, in fact, kill Hawk and lie to the police about
what happened. He says the reason is that on the night in question his buddy seemed to lose
it 200 feet from the summit when their guide told them they needed to head back down. Hawk
tried to take the group’s last remaining oxygen container which led to him viciously attacking
Infeld and Infeld killing him. The plan is to purse a self-defense line.
31

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
To explain Infeld’s lie upon reaching the bottom of the mountain, the plan is to argue he was
protecting the reputation of a friend and known philanthropist. Carmen has already found a
private bank account in the Bahamas that was closed out just after Hawk died.
Cayman overhears Bash and Franklin talking about Hawk’s account. Bash does not tell what
they were talking about. Cayman tells Bash to remove Karp from the team, not listening to Bash
when he says they need Karp.
Cayman corners Hanna in the firm parking lot and makes reference to her not be treated as
well as the men there, basically referring to her not handling Infeld’s case. She mentions that the
New York office might be the place for her as a senior partner but Hanna isn’t interested.
Hanna is now the primary on Ultimo’s case. They meet with representatives of the league,
along with his heir apparent, El Presidente. The league owners say that Ultimo signed a contract
given them control over his image. Ultimo and El Presidente go back and forth.
Karp complains to Cayman about not being on his uncle’s case. She tells him that to smooth
things over she’s gotten his named moved up the list of judicial appointments.
Karp meets with Infeld, who thinks Cayman’s decision to remove him might have been the
right one. Infeld says part of him has been looking forward to the day he’d be judged for what he
did.
In opening arguments Franklin admits to the jury that his client killed Hawk. He points out
that Infeld’s actions saved the lives of two other members of the climbing team.
At Ultimo’s trial the judge says he has no choice but to honor the contract. Ultimo is ordered
to appear the following day and surrender his mask.
A police officer testifies that Infeld and Hawk got in a fistfight days before the climb, with
Infeld taking quite a beating. Infeld said at the time if Hawk didn’t ”pay up, he’s a dead man.”
Infeld tells the guys that he’d forgotten the fight, as back in his drinking days that kind of
stuff happened all the time. In the parking lot the guys admit they are having doubts.
Ultimo’s daughter drops by the guys’ place, obviously upset. Franklin ends up consoling her
and she talks about the importance of a folk hero like her father to the thousands of his fans.
They ends up fooling around and performing some flirty wrestling holds on each other. She
mentions the word copyright and this gets Franklin thinking.
Franklink tells him his idea and learns via Pindar that days after Hawk’s death his off-shore
bank account was drained by Infeld.
Infeld says the account was a private one they used for gambling and the deal was if one of
them died the other was to give the money to charity. Bash mentions pleading guilty, but Infeld
says he’ll represent himself if they don’t want to fight. They promise to win the case for him.
Hanna files a countersuit the following day, alleging the league doesn’t own the moves Ultimo
developed. The judge rules he can keep the mask until the trial, probably four months away.
Infeld takes the stand and says he has no regrets about saving the team and defending his
friend’s honor. To the guys’ shock the prosecutor mentions Infeld draining the offshore account.
She tells the judge in a sidebar that she got the information from Infeld’s firm.
Cayman tells the guy she sent the information to the prosecution to make sure they weren’t
cutting any corners. They say it was unnecessary since they weren’t planning to enter the account
as evidence. They tell Cayman they are no longer taking orders from her and bring Karp
back on the trial team.
Hanna tells Karp about being offered the senior partnership. He thinks this is bad because
Cayman ”means every word of it.”
Hanna brokers a deal between Ultimo and the league where he will wrestle El Presidente. The
winner gets the mask and she points out that either way the league gets the gate. They agree.
After Infeld tells them ”dead men tells no tales” Bash has an idea. In trial the next day he calls
Hawk to the stand.
Karp and Hanna confront Cayman. They’ve figured out she was trying to move them out of
the way so she could take over the firm if Infeld was convicted. They demand she step aside.
With the courtroom cleared Bash says he wants to take the jury to the morgue. The idea is to
prove that Infeld doesn’t hate Hawk but letting the jury see his reaction to his friends. The judge
ends up agreeing.
At the morgue the medical examiner says after being able to finish his autopsy he has determined
Hawk was suffering from hypoxia. This could lead to rage and extreme violence, and the
M.E. thinks a person in that state might have to be stabbed to be stopped.
32

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
The prosecutor offers probation for Infeld giving a false statement. He accepts and says goodbye
to his friend’s body, in the process knocking his head off.
The gang watches Ultimo win the fight.
Infeld tells Hanna that he wants her to succeed him as head of the firm when he eventually
steps down.
The guys have a party and it seems Franklin and Ultimo’s daughter are still into each other.
Ultimo thanks Franklin and shows him his face out of respect.
tank and we see a bailiff pull out his gun.
Cut to a meeting of the partners at
Infeld Stanton. Infeld tells the table ”our
little experiment with Franklin and Bash
has concluded.”
Franklin and Bash arrive at the firm
and run into old friend Robby who has
gotten arrested for drinking on the beach.
He thought the woman was in costume
and is now worried about losing his job.
Infeld tells the guys he has proposed
theme becoming full partners. They need
a two-thirds majority vote from the rest of
the partners. He says he thinks the vote will be very close and signing some big corporate clients
will make the difference. He suggests they meet with Lawrence Reynolds, chief counsel for one of
the largest beverage corporations on the West Coast and try to sign them as a client.
The guys meet with the officer who arrested Robby. They explain Robby didn’t know who she
was, but she isn’t interested in dropping the arrest.
Franklin and Bash meet with Reynolds’ company’s board. Larry seems impressed with their
courtroom techniques and takes them on the company helicopter to a commercial shoot.
The next morning the guys wake up hungover after the big party. Carmen has located some
of the women who had been dressed up as cops the day Robby was arrested. Infeld calls the guys
and tells them Larry was arrested last night for parking his helicopter on a hotel and tells them
to bail him out.
Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Damien and Hanna are skeptical about Franklin and Bash becoming partners.
Bash uses some inside info on the judge to get Larry off. He gives them a trial case before
hiring Infeld Daniels. Somebody is selling a microbrew Larry’s company owns as their own and
he wants the guys to stop them. If they get it right, the firm is hired.
Bash is looking into whether the cop (Wendy) has a track record of violence.
The guys talk to the woman who has been selling the beer. She’s devastated she won’t be able
to sell it anymore. Her father sold the rights for 30 grand after entering it in a contest years ago.
Franklin advises her not to waste money fighting it.
Bash argues to a jury that Robby thought Wendy was in costume. The judge isn’t allowing
Bash to open her police file. Bash calls Wendy to the stand and tricks her into helping them get
her file admitted. But there is nothing in the file to help him.
Bash sits with a drunk Wendy at a bar. He explains Robby is a good guy and just doesn’t want
to lose his job. She shows him what she did to Robby to restrain him and explains there is no
way he could have thought she was just ”fooling around.”
Pindar shows Carmen his medical file. He explains the origin of his phobias is a former
college roommate who kicked him out of the room when he was with girls. This drove him to the
infirmary.
Franklin and Bash are in court with the tavern owner. Her small-time lawyer argues that the
rules of the contest require her father got drunk, making him signing away the rights to his beer
not legally binding. He wants to shut down Larry’s company’s brewery and is looking for $100
million in punitive damages. The judge is impressed and agrees to trial.
Pindar thinks the restaurant is looking for a settlement. Franklin thinks they’re in trouble.
Carmen wants Pindar to find his old roommate and take back his power.
In court Franklin asks the brewer about her beer and the origin of the recipe. He points out
that her father did not grow one of the ingredients in California, which makes their win invalid
and gives them no claim to the recipe.
Despite the win, Larry wants the guys to go after the prize money that the woman’s father
woman, plus interest. That would be an amount close to $250,000 and would shut her down.
They think it’s excessive, but he wants to send a message.
Robby mentions his love of sunscreen, which interests Bash.
In court Bash puts on the costume and sunscreen that Robby was wearing that day. He shows
that with the sunscreen on he was able to slip out of the hold, meaning he wasn’t aware she was
an officer.
Pindar’s roommate tells Carmen that he never kicked him out. He had a girlfriend at the time,
and Pindar would leave on his own whenever she was around.
Wendy implies she’d be interested in seeing Bash socially. He agrees to call her.
Infeld tells the guys they got the vote needed to be partners. They don’t want Larry to countersue,
but Infeld thinks they need to be advocates for the client. They tell him they won’t do
it, and don’t want to be partners. After they leave he calls Damien and says ”Unfortunately you
were right. I need you to pull the trigger.”
We see that the restaurant with the suit.
Hanna tells Damien about a morality clause in the firm’s partner agreement that could get
the guys removed. They plan to start keeping a log of the guys’ behavior.
Franklin tells Carmen about serving the countersuit, and tells her they can now hire both
her and Pindar as employees of the firm. That will mean 401K and health benefits. The guys call
Larry, who tells them to drop the suit.
The case is a man named Stephen, a
college kid who pretends to be a superhero
by the name Raven Viper.
Viper tells the guys he chased the victim,
who stole a purse. He chased the
”suspect” onto a roof, where a struggle resulted
in the man backing up and falling
off the roof. Viper says ”I help people, I
don’t hurt them.”
Infeld agrees to let the guys defend Viper, which is their first manslaughter case without
assistance.
her.
Colleen drops by the firm and meets Hanna and Damien. She seems interested in Damien.
Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Colleen continues to be particularly friendly with Damien.
Viper tells the guys he and a few other superheroes have a code of conduct they follow. He
was following it the night of the manslaughter.
Viper introduces the guys to the other three superheroes who help protect women and the
elderly in various ways. They agree to testify on Viper’s behalf.
The other superheroes testify a lot of thought went into their creed and Viper is never violent.
On cross Jane points out that a line in the creed about fighting injustice is not part of the local
neighborhood watch rules and would seem to indicate Viper occasionally played the role of judge
and jury.
Megan drops by to see Pindar and asks him to lunch.
Jane shows video of Viper having an earlier altercation with the victim while he gave him a
parking ticket. The man shoved Viper and Jane now wants to add a charge of murder. The judge
allows it.
At lunch we learn Megan is obsessed with an ex-boyfriend, to the point of having a restraining
order. She tells Pindar she’s been married twice and has slept with ”a lot of guys.” They agree to
seek therapy together.
Viper tells the guys he constantly has negative interactions with people he’s written tickets.
The guys come home to find Colleen and Wendy talking. While fooling around with Wendy
Bash thinks of something.
The guys and Carmen go to the roof and wonder if perhaps Viper jumped from another roof,
creating the thud. They find what looks like a piece of Viper’s cape on the roof across the alley.
Without showing him the cape, Franklin tells Viper they’re going to put him on the stand
again. The plan is to ”break his heart.”
Damien represents Colleen in jer attempt to get the house back. It works.
Damien makes a point to hint to Bash that his relationship might be more than professional.
On the stand Franklin has Viper admit that he ran away from the victim. He jumped across
to the other building and when the victim tried to do the same thing he fell to his death. Viper
isn’t happy he has to admit this.
Jane’s office drops the charges. She tells Bash her wedding is off the table.
Summary: Jared and Peter run into two lawyers defending one of infled exwives.
Jared and Peter notice a lot of themselves in the two lawyers against
whom they must prove that the ex-wife didn’t kidnap a dog. Karp must
work with Pindar on a robbery case, but it may not be solved because
the partnership could be broken due to Pindar’s odd quirks.
Open with the guys trying out some
motorcycles. The consider using their
bonuses from the firm, then remember
they are late for a meeting with Pindar
and a possible client. They put the bikes
on hold.
Evanthia, one of Infeld’s ex-wives,
walks into the firm. She tells Hanna
someone is trying to take her dog Lulu.
Infeld says Hanna and Damien will be
taking the case.
Pindar’s client is a poor man named
Bill who makes cheese. Bill says he
robbed a pizza place because he lost his
job and is taking care of his sick father.
He made a gun out of a hard cheese and ate the evidence. While the guys debate if they can let
Pindar handle Bill’s case by himself, Damien comes by and wants to dump Evanthia’s case on
them. They agree as long as he represents Bill with Pindar.
Evanthia tells the guys she found the dog wandering alone four months ago, clearly alone.
She put up signs but nobody claimed her. Evanthia was Infeld’s second and fourth wife. A few
months ago a young woman who has pictures with the dog began claiming ownership.
In court the guys run into Kerry Dutton’s defense team, old friends Jango and Rossi. The guys
are confident they’ll win quickly. Rossi argues in court that it’s a simple stolen property case and
says the dog’s real name is Maxine, not Lulu. They argue Kerry searched for the dog but couldn’t
find it.
After watching an online video of the robbery at Lucky Louie’s, Damien and Pindar say they
should be able to get the weapons charge dismissed and Bill should only end up with probation.
41

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
On the stand Evanthia says she’ll do anything to keep Lulu.
Because the robbery video has gone viral, the prosecutor tells Damien that his boss wants
Jim to do at least five years in order to send a message. Jim hints that there might be a coconspirator,
but he won’t tell his lawyers anything.
An animal shelter employee says the dog was brought to location 15 miles from where Evanthia
found it. Evanthia returned to claim it on the morning of the tenth day, with ten days
required by law for ownership. Evanthia seems clearly to still miss Infeld.
The judge agrees to place the dog in third-party custody until a verdict is reached. Since the
prosecution team has cats, Franklin and Bash agree to keep Lulu so she doesn’t have to go to
the pound.
Damien and Pindar visit Bill’s place. They want to put him on the stand to prove poverty was
the reason he stole the money. He admits that a vendor named Chuck told him the pizza place
was perfect, as there were no weapons on the premises and it would be a tax write-off for the
owner. Chuck told him he’d get off if he was respectful.
Evanthia admits that she has watched Lulu be treated poorly by Kerry and thinks she saved
its life.
The guys’ plan is to prove the dog was in danger. They send Carmen out to look for information
on Kerry. The guys are paranoid Jango and Rossi’s claim they’ve sold out is correct.
Hanna suggests that perhaps Infeld is nice to Evanthia because he feels guilty for breaking
her heart.
Jango and Rossi want to call the dog as a witness. They tells the judge they want to have the
dog choose its rightful owners. The judge says no, but on their way back from the sidebar Jango
purposefully ”drops” the dog to the ground, allowing it to run to Kerry. The judge holds Jango
and Rossi in contempt, and tells the jury to disregard.
Chuck tells Carmen he didn’t tell Jim to rob the place, adding that he’s a minority owner of
Lucky Louie’s.
Pindar notices that the viral video links directly to a Groupon for the restaurant. He wants to
open the books on the pizza joint.
The guys tell Evanthia it will tough for the jury to ignore what it saw. Carmen calls with word
that she’s found one of Kerry’s old boyfriends and it doesn’t look good for Evanthia.
Lucky Louie himself is put on the stand. He says he had no idea the gun was not real and
testifies he was scared, specifically mentioning he was scared he’d never see his wife again. On
cross Damien points out that having the robbery on camera has helped business. Damien enters
into evidence a receipt proving the cameras were put in three days before Bill’s robbery.
A dog expert testifies that Lulu’s breed was bred to catch rats. The guys bring a new witness,
Andre Carson, who is the dog’s real owner. He’s Kara’s ex, who testifies that while he was out
of the country Kerry stole the dog, along with her papers. He points out that she’s wearing one
of his dress shirts right now. She throws the shirt at Andre and starts yelling about him having
affairs. The judge tells the attorneys that he’s giving custody to Andre pending him tracking down
the dog’s legal papers.
The jury finds Bill guilty only of a misdemeanor, meaning no jail time.
Infeld and Hanna drop by Evanthia’s place with a new dog. He admits that Evanthia was the
one who ended things with him. They find she’s there with Andre (who is giving him visitation
privileges) and the two appear to be sleeping together.
and roll community, Jared and his dad battle and over the case of the
rock and roll icon. Infeled tries to clear his spiritual adviser from the
charge of fraud.
Open with a party at the guys’ place.
Pindar and Megan seem to be getting
along well.
Franklin is serving as a judge in small
claims court as part of a court order.
One of the cases involves the owner of
a famous rock club named Dennis Mazzani
who is three months late with the
rent. The owners are represented by attorney
Angela, who wants Dennis off the
premises. Despite his affinity for the club,
Franklin has to rule in her favor.
Franklin runs into his father Leonard.
Their relationship is as cool as ever.
It turns out Pindar’s ”facilitator,” a Dr. Lee, is actually a man named Tony who has just been
arrested for impersonating psychotherapists. Pindar and Megan are both furious.
The blogosphere is not happy with Franklin’s ruling. Infeld tells the guys a story about hanging
out at Mazzani’s. Bash tells him ”we’re going to fix this.” Franklin wants to make it up to Dennis.
Infeld and Damien meet with Tony. Infeld thinks it’s important that he continue helping
people. Infeld feels like he owes it to Pindar to help Tony. Damien doesn’t like it, so Infeld says
he’ll handle the case with Pindar.
Bash talks to Dennis and offers to help him get the club back. Dennis says his dad is tired of
what rock has become. Franklin walks in and points out that since Dennis’ name is on the lease,
he should have been served as well. Eventually Dennis agrees to let them help.
The guys look through the records at Mazzani’s. Leonard shows up, telling them he is representing
the developer that wants to get rid of the club and convert the area into a mall. He hand
them a motion to dismiss their lawsuit and Franklin blows him off.
43

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Before Tony’s court appearance it’s clear Pindar is still furious with his former ”doctor.” Infeld
tells the jury that Tony is a reformed sinner and a healer.
Carmen goes to see Neal, a sound and lighting guy who recently left Mazzani’s. She pretends
to be a reporter looking for info on Dennis’ father Burt. She points out that his career had taken
off the past few weeks. She steals his phone.
Dennis tells Franklin nobody hears from his father, so it’s unlikely they’ll get him on the
stand. Franklin sees Leonard outside the courthouse and tells him he found tons of old Father’s
Day presents he’d given him, still unopened in the box.
On the stand Tony says his sordid past is what helped make him who is now. On cross he’s
asked about women he’s been involved with since his ”redemption.” One of the names is Megan’s.
Carmen tells the guys about the phone. Two weeks before leaving Mazzani’s, Neal meet with
the developer Richard Cole. Franklin wonders why Cole is targeting this particular location, when
there are better ones available. Neal calls the phone and Carmen agrees to drop it off backstage.
Infeld puts Pindar on the stand. The judge allows it, provided Pindar is removed from the
defense team.
Franklin and Bash tells the judge they plan to prove Cole paid off people to sabotage Mazzani’s.
On the stand Cole points out that if Burt won’t defend his own club, why should anybody
else care?
On the stand Pindar reluctantly admits that Tony was helpful in him getting over some of his
phobias.
The guys find an old vinyl album from a Mazzani’s benefit concert. Based on the picture they
figure out that Cole was involved in a love triangle with Bert.
The guys bring Dennis to Burt’s place and tell him what has been happening with the club.
Burt knows Belinda is the reason Cole wants the club, but doesn’t seem interested in testifying.
The jury finds Tony guilty on all counts. Afterwards Infeld basically admits that he defending
Tony to help Pindar, knowing full well they’d lose.
Franklin calls Burt, who has surprisingly shown up at the courthouse. On the stand Burt
begins mumbling, then talks about writing his hit song both for Belinda and his friend Cole. He
starts to sing the song and the jury hums along. The lyrics are allowed to stand as his testimony.
Outside the courtroom the guys ask Cole for the club, as well as punitive damages. Cole
agrees to give them the club, saying he’s found another location.
Megan apologizes to Pindar. She says she was also betrayed by Tony and gives him a big kiss.
He has some trouble with the contact but seems to be progressing.
Jocko Sims (R.J. Carlton), Bellamy Young (Margaret Pollack)
Summary: Peter is asked to defend a high profile judge after facing arrest due
to an affair with a lawyer. Peter is closer to falling in love with Janie.
Meanwhile Karp defends a friend from college and who has to prove
his sexual orientation so he can keep his trophy.
Open with the guys in court getting a
lecture from a judge Derek Kohler about
another of their unorthodox defense techniques.
At this point Derek is placed under
arrest for having an affair with a district
attorney named Margaret Pollack.
He wants them to defend him.
A college acquaintance of Damien’s
named Lance needs help because the gay
softball league he plays in is accusing his
team of heterosexual behavior. Damien is
stunned that Lance is gay and initially
has no interest in a ”frivolous” lawsuit.
Lance points out that such a case could
help his standing with the gay community
and boost his chances at becoming a judge.
Derek tells the guys he’s being accused of presiding over Margaret’s cases in 2009, but says
they didn’t start dating until 2010 and he’s recused himself every time a case of hers got to his
court. Bash pulls out a phone sex recording he made for her that with a time stamp of 2009.
Margaret comes into the room and agrees with Derek’s statement about their timeline. They
believe somebody must have altered the time stamp.
Franklin and Bash tell the partners they’re surprised Derek and Margaret would be that
stupid with the affair. Derek is facing 23 years, one for each case. Damien says the team Lance
plays on was in last place before he arrived and the league thinks he’s a ringer. Infeld says he
wants to partner with him on the case.
Janie is prosecuting Derek and Margaret. After a little bit of flirting, she tells Bash they have
a night manager that can put the two together in February of 2009.
The attorney handling the softball case (who also happens to be a player on the losing team)
tells Damien that the night of the victory Lance got drunk and admitted never having dated or
slept with a man. The league’s self-declaration form refers to gay as participating in romantic
45

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
or sexual behavior. He also says that Lance was kicked out of a straight softball league just two
days before joining the gay league.
Derek tells the guy he thinks the night manager is lying about recalling his and Margaret’s
drink orders that night. The guys think Derek should plead out, but he wants them to get
creative. They go through the cases from 2009 that could be overturned if he’s found guilty.
One of them was a man named Julian who Derek gave five years for embezzling money from his
nightclub. We see video of Julian having to be held back from attacking Derek at sentencing.
Damien tells Infeld the league wants evidence Lance is gay.
The guys visit Julian in prison. He tells them he was in a ”dark place spiritually” when he
threatened Derek. They ask if he has any connections to Paul, the night manager. He says no.
They point out he’s made calls to a burner cell phone purchased in the city where Paul lives.
Julian snaps and needs to be pulled away by guards.
Infeld questions the chairman of the gay softball association, who says he doesn’t think Lance
is gay because he’s never had a romantic or physical gay relationship. Infeld gives the chairman
a ”gay test,” asking him about Dancing With the Stars, Kathy Griffith and yoga. Infeld points out
that his test is no less arbitrary than the league’s.
Damien and Infeld go with Lance to a gay bar for a drink. Lance tells Damien that he didn’t
sleep with all the women he thinks he slept with. Infeld mentions that Lance’s ex-wife will be
testifying the following day.
Janie offers Bash a lesser sentence provided he steps down from the bench. He turns her
down. Bash wants to have Carmen take a close look at Margaret.
On the stand Lance’s ex-wife said the stress of their respective businesses was what ruined
the marriage. Damien hands her credit card receipts showing that Lance subscribed to a gay
dating website for six months before their divorce. She says that was to help a friend, but he
calls her out on testifying because she’s really just bitter her ex-husband could never love a
woman. She is tearful. But on re-direct she tells the attorney she and Lance had an active sex
life throughout their marriage.
On the stand Derek testifies about his strong record as a judge. He then says his relationship
with Margaret begin in February 2010, so designated because of a sexual encounter the two
had. Janie tries to argue that the emotional component of the relationship must have begun
earlier, showing him an email he wrote her with a winking emoticon. He says he ”may” have been
attracted to Margaret and says he honestly doesn’t know if had any bearing on his decisions.
Carmen finds a prison guard who tells the guys Paul’s cousin served time with Julian in early
2009. He hints that Margaret is having an affair with Julian, whom she tutors in French.
Damien tells Lance he thinks they’re screwed if the can’t find any proof of his sexuality. Lance
said in the past he tried to tell somebody he was gay, but lacked the confidence to come out.
Hanna tells Damien his problem has nothing to do with Lance.
Franklin and Bash meet Margaret at the prison. She denies the affair, but they catch her on
calling the same cell phone connected to Julian and Paul.
The guys have Derek over and break the news about Margaret’s affair. They say the prison
guard confirmed it, but won’t testify. They ask him for assistance catching Margaret, but Derek
goes on the offensive. He tells them they’re wrong and lazy for not being able to find the person
who is setting him up.
Bask tells Janie that Margaret is rigging the case and she should drop it. During this conversation
they start making out and clothes come off.
Infeld puts Lance on the stand. He says he couldn’t ”handle the consequences” of coming out.
Damien takes over the questioning and brings up an event from college where Lance punched
over a girl. Lance begins to cry, saying he punched Damien because he’d never be able to have
him.
Franklin immediately realizes that Bash slept with Janie. Derek shows up with evidence that
Margaret is planning to run away as soon as she gets him convicted.
Franklin puts Margaret on the stand and asks her if she’s in love with Julian. She says
no, then Franklin points out she’s been getting some strange vaccinations recently. He hands
her what turn out to be fake plane tickets to Morocco. When she reads Derek as the other
name Julian jumps up and starts yelling that she set him up. She calls him ”babe” during the
exchange. Janie drops the charges and adds a charge of perjury for Margaret.
receive too much free advice. Meanwhile infeld Daniels associate partners
program begins young lawyers are partnered with D.A.’s at the
firm. Jared and Peter have to try a case to in front of a DA that has
some bad history with Peter.
Open with the guys having breakfast
at the diner while blowing off a partnership
meeting.
At the partnership meeting Hanna
brings up the summer associate shadow
program is brought up. The brother (Sal)
of Infeld’s favorite mechanic needs representation
after he beat up three associates
at a chop shop when he was hoping
to get straight. The prosecution is arguing
that it was premeditated. Sal has a record
and the case doesn’t look good. Franklin
and Bash are given Sal’s case.
The guys are pushing a self-defense
argument for Sal, whose associated didn’t
want him to leave their business. Sal tells the guys this would be his third strike and he’ll do
25 years if convicted. He’s always done his time and admitted his crime, but says this time is
different: ”What I did, I didn’t have a choice.”
The guys run into Sasha, and attractive associate who will be shadowing Hanna. They are
less enthused by their more bookish associate shadow, Bonnie.
The guys talk to Bonnie about the jury selection process. The want a jury receptive to selfdefense.
Infeld wants them to find gun owners, Hanna pushes for women.
In court they see they’re being opposed by DA Brad Hewett, who seems to have taken the case
in order to up his political profile.
Jury selection begins. In the first round the guys and Hewitt have agreed on eight jurors.
Hewitt isn’t using may of his challenges. They’ve used eight of their ten challenges already and
think Hewitt is up to something.
49

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
The next day Hewitt enters the tools he used in the beatings in to evidence. This seems to
deflate the guys’ self defense strategy. Hewitt wanted to let the guys pick a self defense jury.
Sal tells the guys the guys were doing strong-armed work. After stealing a car and beating up
the driver, they talked about ”taking care of” a witness named Annabelle. Sal had feelings for her
and felt he needed to protect her. The guys perk up when he talk about maybe being in love with
Annabelle.
At a jury selection party the guys talk about changing their defense to love. They want Carmen
to talk to Annabelle. Franklin and Bonnie talk about her father, who is also a lawyer. They want
to find jurors who have heart.
To Bash’s dismay Franklin excuses a junior high PE teacher. Bash flirts with a juror and she
is immediately dismissed by Hewitt.
Annabelle tells Carmen she doesn’t know Sal very well at all.
Sal admits his feelings were one-sided and is upset they put her in danger by talking to her.
They need one more juror to fit their profile and plan to argue he loved Annabelle, even though
she didn’t love him back. They want to get the jury to like Sal, equating him to love.
Damien doesn’t like the guys’ strategy. Hanna wants them to find jurors who are themselves
in love. Infeld again brings up gun owners.
A potential juror wants to be excused because she has a surprise romantic vacation coming
up with her new husband. Bash tries to make her not like him, then excuses another juror.
Hewitt doesn’t excuse the woman, either.
Franklin thinks the current jury is decent if Hewitt doesn’t excuse anybody. Annabelle is now
missing, with her boss saying she’s left town after a large man in a leather coat came to talk with
her. This means they can’t call her as a character witness. Sal says he wanted her to leave town
just in case.
The guys drop by the chop shop and run into Kiki, who turns out to be Sal’s on again-off
again girlfriend. This means he was essentially being unfaithful with his feelings for Annabelle.
Sal tells the guys he bought the gifts for Kiki as a reason to visit Annabelle’s store. The woman
who is on vacation is crying about her marriage being over because her husband is cheating on
her. They need to get her off the jury, but are out of challenges.
Pindar stalls Hewitt long enough for him to see the guys interact with the vacation juror. They
pretend to pick up something she dropped, and Hewitt sees it.
Hewitt charges them with tampering. The judge won’t go that far, but the juror ends up being
thrown out.
The judge finalizes the jury.
The guys tell Sal they like their jury. The plan is for Sal to prove he only gave gifts to Kiki
when Annabelle was working. Since he has no gift receipts, the only way to prove that would be
Kiki testifying the times when she did or didn’t get gifts.
Kiki doesn’t want to testify on Sal’s behalf. They think the only other option is Sal himself.
The guys tell Bonnie they’re considering a plea deal. She doesn’t like it, suggesting they get
the prosecution to call Kiki as a hostile witness. In order to get Hewitt to call Kiki, they need to
find a way to tip him off to their love defense.
In court the guys tells the judge they’re having trouble getting a witness, in the process
revealing to Hewitt their strategy. Hewitt scoffs when they suggest a plea.
The guys tell Sal they’ll win if the prosecution calls Kiki to the stand. If she isn’t, they’ll lose.
The next day in court Hewitt gives his opening argument. He references the love defense and
says he plans to introduce Kiki. The guys smile as the episode ends.
Summary: Peter and Jared ask for Hanna’s help in the court martial of two Sailors
as charged with assaulting personnel but what Jared and Peter don’t
realize there is an ulterior motive that Hanna has in mind. They also
have one other problem on their hands that he cut and a officer the
trust the defense team. Pindar settles a dispute between the co-owners
regarding the virtual business they own.
Open with Franklin and Bash hosting
a party in their office for the summer
associates. Damien drops by to yell
at them before realizing Infeld is at the
party. Damien locks eyes on an attractive
associate named Alyssa. Two women
in Naval uniforms show up and introduce
themselves at Toomin and Ward.
The women tell the guys they beat up
two Navy guys at a bar. The base has a
van that is used to pick up troublemakers
and it took the men home. But when the
ladies got back they were placed under
arrest. They both have been in the service
for a decade and are closer than they’ll
ever be to the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) team, which is the closest women in the Navy
can get to being SEALs. They were appointed inexperienced defense lawyers but wanted to hire
better representation.
Carmen and Pindar open a package addressed to the guys. Inside is a switchblade knife.
Almost as soon as Pindar holds the knife he breaks it.
Infeld brings Alyssa to Damien, because she’s interested in real estate law. He is obviously
uncomfortable and she asks if she knows him from somewhere. He gives her a bunch of work
and suggests she work from home.
The guys tell Hanna they’re headed to military court. She clearly knows more about the
process than they do and tells them she spent time as a JAG.
The guys arrive at military court and meet their opposing counsel, a Commander Puckett.
They also meet Captain Vaughn, the women’s commanding officer. She seems concerned that
they’re going to give Ward and Toomin effective defense. They tell her their defense will be mutual
combat.
Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
While shooting at the firing range the women tell Franklin and Bash the men provoked them
by telling them women don’t belong in EOD. The two men ended up getting their EOD orders
later in the week. The guys think it’s strange there were cops waiting for them back at the base.
Alyssa tells Damien she recognizes him from her days as a student stripper. She recalls him
being nicer than the clients he was there with. He invites her to join him for a summer associates
dinner he’s hosting.
The guys tell the judge their view that in the past twelve months only two people have been
arrested for assault off-base, their clients. To explain why the women were singled out, Puckett
plays a video of the fight. The women seemed almost to be taking pleasure in doling out a savage
beating. The women have to admit they might have gotten ”carried away.”
Infeld thinks the fight looks personal. But since the two men would plead the fifth, there is no
point in calling them as witnesses. Infeld thinks gaining access to the men’s service files might
help. Hanna, who now seems interested in joining the team, knows of a way they can get the
kind of high-level clearance needed to open the files.
Hanna tells Damien about working with the guys. She says she’s doing it in part to add to the
file on Franklin and Bash they’re putting together to get the guys kicked out as partners.
Bash tells Pindar he’s expecting General Patton’s switchblade, a gift for Infeld. When he leaves
Carmen tells him he needs to try and take it to a knife store and get it fixed.
After the summer associates dinner Alyssa and Damien walk to the parking lot. They hit it off
and talk about the fact he doesn’t date women he works with. She mentions that she’s looking at
working at a smaller firm doing a different kind of law. They end up sleeping together in her car.
Afterwards she mentions maybe exploring Damien’s firm a little longer and he looks unhappy.
Hanna requests a look at the files of the men who fought with Ward and Toomin. The judge
agrees to review it and decide whether it’s relevant.
Later in the day the judge rules the files admissible. The guys are allowed to view the files,
but cannot remove them from the courtroom. Franklin, Bash and Hanna look through the files
and find much of it has been redacted.
It turns out the two men were initially rejected by the EOD, but were late back in after the fight
with eerily similar recommendations. Vaughn was the one of helped get them into EOD. Ward
and Toomin don’t understand why she would have done that, since she’s been so supportive of
their careers.
There is a problem with a piece of real estate legislation that Damien’s office handled which
will end up costing the firm about $50,000. The partners vote to terminate Alyssa, despite
Damien’s protest.
Pindar is pulled over on his way from the knife store for going seven miles per hour. His license
expired five years earlier and he ends up showing the officer the knife.
Franklin talks to Vaughn about whether she sent the men to attack his clients. She doesn’t
admit to anything. She thinks they should take a deal which involves admitting guilt. She says
the two men from the fight are out of country.
Damien tells Alyssa she’s being fired. She thinks he’s doing it because of their relationship
and tells him not making it through the summer session will kill her career.
Infeld comes to Pindar’s rescue at his arraignment. He gets his case dismissed by showing the
judge a feature of the knife that means it doesn’t legally qualify it as a switchblade.
Damien shows Infeld that Alyssa wasn’t the one of who made the mistake. In fact her work
will earn the firm money. He tells Damien to hire her full-time.
The guys review Vaughn Congressional testimony about women’s role in the armed forces. It
turns out that she doesn’t support women engaging in front line combat. Vaughn set Toomin
and Ward up to either force them to quit when they were beaten by men, or be disqualified if they
won and were court marshaled. Bash’s plan is to use Vaughn’s affinity for the women.
Bash puts Ward and Toomin on the stand and gets her to admit they started the fight to
prove that the Navy needed to reevaluate its standards for putting women in combat. Since
this qualifies at sedition and mutiny, the women are placed under arrest. As they are led away,
Vaughn stands up and admits that she organized the fight in order to show them why the Navy
prevents women from serving on the front lines. The charges are immediately dismissed. The
women tells Franklin and Bash they now have a shot at EOD.
Damien offers Alyssa the job. She turns him down, saying she’s accepted a lower-paying
position at the other firm. She agrees to finish our her summer and it looks like they may
is thought to be stalking Stanton Karp think that maybe the usual
stalker someone from prison out to get revenge. Hanna runs and into
an old friend from college and an old romance is suddenly reignited.
The episode begins with a package being
delivered to Stanton. Inside is the
clay bust of the Buddha, with something
stuck to its eyes, and streams of dried
blood seen on its face. Meanwhile, after
he has shown Damien the bust Stanton
tells Damien, about how he has been having
a string of bad luck. Damien feels
someone is doing these things intentionally.
Damien proceeds to call the cops,
but Stanton stops him and tells him that
he will handle it himself, rather than getting
the cops involved. Franklin and Bash
along with their client, meanwhile visit a placed called Bodyview, where the body of their client’s
husband has been donated, as per his last wish.
They find out that Bodyview is an art gallery, where plastic polymer is pumped into a human
cadaver, after emptying them. This process they are informed is called plasticizing. They are also
informed that their client’s husband would be showcased, doing a Latin dance. Their client isn’t
too happy to hear this, as her husband was a renowned marine biologist, and would hence have
never really wanted such a thing. The intern at the gallery then asks them to take up any issue
they might have with the gallery’s legal department. Damien meanwhile hands Stanton a stack
of files, which contains the records of all the people who might have a vendetta against him. They
include all the people he has defeated, gained judgment against and bested in court.
He also hands Stanton a small stack of files, which comprises of the cases he lost. From stack
of the lost cases he digs out a file of a man called Samuel Jeffers, who was convicted for a robbery.
Before being convicted Stanton had imparted some Buddhist wisdom to Samuel, which he did
not appreciate much. He had also accused Stanton of being blind to reality. Damien then decides
to pay Samuel who was released 3 weeks ago, a visit. Meanwhile a judge places an injunction,
preventing BodyView from using the body of the marine biologist, till a decision is reached in
Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
court confirming that, it was truly his wish to be showcased. Franklin and Bash later decide to
argue in court that, what the deceased wants doesn’t matter in this case, as much as what the
closet to the deceased wants.
Damien meanwhile warns Samuel not to mess around with Stanton, or he shall be sued.
Damien later tells Stanton that they need to get more intel on Samuel. Damien later asks Carmen
to him get him intel on Samuel. Later Franklin tells the court how his client Martha was the closet
living relative her husband Henry had, at the time of his death. Therefore the law stipulates that,
she decide where his body shall be laid to rest. The lawyer from Bodyview then tells the court
that Henry took numerous dance lessons last year, and also presents in the court his dance
instructor. She also claims that Henry had told his instructor he wanted to be plastinated doing
the Bachata. The lawyer also claims that the instructor was closer to Henry than Martha. The
instructor then tells the court that she and Henry were in love.
Later the two decide to prove in court that, Henry was impetuous and that Alana the dance
instructor was just a passing fancy. They would also prove that his marriage was rock solid, even
though Henry might have slept with Alana. Samuel meanwhile gets a restraining order against
Stanton and Damien. Franklin meanwhile in court proves that Henry used to pursue a hobby
with great passion for a short period of time, and then would get bored of it within a year. He
further illustrates that Henry did the same when it came to Latin dancing. He then tells the court
that, for Henry ’Martha Strauss was the only fascination that wasn’t fleeting’. The lawyer from
Bodyview meanwhile presents a new witness in court. The witness tells the court that he knew
Henry for about 10 years.
He also tells the court that he is a divorce attorney, and Henry had confided in him that, he
wanted a divorce. Henry had in fact asked him to draw papers to divorce his wife, and had paid
him for it. The judge, given the evidence at hand, orders that, Henry’s body be plastinated. Later
the two tell Martha that, she can get Henry back even if he is plastinated, but for that she has
to first divorce Henry. Later the two get the judge who ruled on the case to divorce Henry and
Martha; they then surprise him by claiming Henry’s body. They argue that Henry left Martha
his art collection, and now that Henry has been plastinated, he too is a work of art and as such
belongs to Martha. The judge tells them that he shall hear the arguments on it tomorrow.
Damien meanwhile finds out that it isn’t Samuel who is troubling Stanton. Later, Stanton
apologizes to Samuel for not defending him better 5 years ago, but he instead tells him that,
Stanton did a great job and inspired him to get an education. Stanton then figures out that it
was actually the woman who was taken hostage by Samuel during the robbery, who has been
setting them up. Stanton concludes that he gave Samuel a great defense and it didn’t sit well
with her. Meanwhile the lawyer from Bodyview gets a witness to court who is a customs official.
He tells the court that Bodyview collections aren’t considered art by the US Customs, but are
classified under anatomical collections. Stanton and Samuel along with Damien meanwhile pay
the woman who was a hostage, a visit.
Samuel apologizes to her for what he did to her. She though isn’t in a mood to forgive. Stanton
then talks to her and manages to sort things out. Meanwhile Bash calls Tate, who is a court artist
and Hanna’s friend, to the witness box. Bash then wheels a stuffed grizzly bear into the court
and asks him if its art. He tells the court that taxidermy has long been considered as art, so yes
its art. Bash then tells the court that, the stuffed grizzly bear although art is classified under
anatomical collections, by the US Customs. He then tells the court that anything that appeals to
the senses can be considered art. The judge later rules that, Henry’s body, is a work of art, and
that this work of art belongs to Martha.
Alana then walks up to Martha and tells her that she doesn’t know if Henry loved her or not
but she loved him. Martha in reply tells her she now knows that, Henry loved to dance. Stanton
meanwhile shocks Damien by telling him that, he (Stanton) shall be mentoring Samuel. This
also means that Damien shall be working with him, a few times in a week. Stanton also thanks
Damien for going overboard with tying to help him. Damien in turn tells him that he was worried
about him. Stanton then congratulates Franklin and Bash for winning their case. The three then
discuss, as to what they would want to be done with their bodies, after they are dead.
and a few others come from New York and see if the charges can be
Franklin, Peter, Carmen and Pindar’s friendship started.
Open with Damien seeming nervous
that Richard, a senior partner at the New
York office and ”HR hatchet man” is visiting.
If he’s there it means somebody is
getting fired.
Damien wakes up Infeld on vacation
and tells him about Richard. Infeld
rushes home.
Richard and his associate Emily meet
with Franklin and Bash. They tell the
guys they’re being accused of misconduct,
something beyond their usual
courtroom antics. Someone they defended
named Tammy is alleging the guys
paid her to flee a bench warrant.
Flashback to the guys meeting during childhood.
They think Tammy is scared because she’s looking at a third strike. Franklin has to admit
they did give her $1,000, but it was to remove a tattoo that wouldn’t have hurt her in court.
Richard and Emily seem satisfied and think the contempt hearing should be ”painless.”
The guys try to figure out why Tammy might be coming after them. They need to see ”Dr.
Doug.”
Dr. Doug is the tattoo artist who was supposed to remove Tammy’s tattoo. He said he gave
her a new one, instead. Unfortunately since he is now a dermatologist, he won’t testify to seeing
her unless she consents.
Infeld meets with Richard and tells him he’ll do whatever necessary to protect Franklin and
Bash.
Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
Richard tells the guys he’s asked Damien to handle their defense and doesn’t want them to
have any contact with Tammy. They aren’t thrilled. Richard asks about their background and
the guys aren’t sure if they should trust him.
Pindar is practicing with a polygraph in preparation for an interview with Richard.
The guys meet with Jo Jo a forger they know who is in jail. The goal is to pretend to meet with
Jo Jo while actually talking to Tammy who at another table meeting with her council. Tammy,
who is facing 25 years, feels like the guys forgot about her when they got to the big firm and gave
her money to make her go away.
Franklin asks Emily what Richard is up to. The two hit it off well discussing movies. He asks
her ”Is this why you went to law school, to bring down fellow lawyers? We didn’t do this.”
Pindar tries unsuccessfully to avoid Richard’s questions by asks questions in response. Richard
asks about when he first met the guys and we see a meeting at a party Pindar was hosting in law
school.
The guys’ first court appearance is a disaster. The judge rules that Tammy has an expectation
of privacy and doesn’t have to show the new tattoo, which would be violating her right not to
testify against herself.
Afterwards the guys fire Damien. They decide to go after Tammy’s claim that she has an
expectation of privacy for a tattoo above her left breast.
Infeld tells the guys to beware of the questions Richard doesn’t ask. They point out he hasn’t
asked them if they paid off Tammy and he says with a smile ”I don’t have to.”
Richard also asks Carmen how she hooked up with the guys. We see they got her off back in
2007 when she was a con. When she can’t pay them, they ask her to go straight for a few weeks
and help on an upcoming case. Carmen assures Richard she’s out of the con game and then
reminds him she’s more than capable of investigating him as well.
Pindar and Bash think Franklin is making a mistake getting so close with Emily.
Carmen brings the guys to see Tammy’s former roller derby coach. She says she has nothing
to say about Tammy. The guys go backstage and meet a woman who knew Tammy for a few
months. She doesn’t remember Tammy having any tattoos above her breasts. Franklin grabs a
poster that shows up low-cut the roller derby uniforms are.
In their interview Emily asks Franklin about his father Leonard. He tells her about the guys’
first trial when they were held in contempt after Bash entered the courtroom in a costume.
While in a holding cell they learned the opponents wanted to settle, which was the origin of their
outside-the-box way of practicing. Franklin connects himself to Pindar’s lie detector. He passes
with flying colors and they begin to fool around.
Tammy takes the stand. The guys bring in one of the roller derby girls wearing the tube top
that Tammy wore in public. The judge changes his decision and rules her tattoo is admissible.
Franklin starts going through all of her tattoos, which are all connected to run-ins she’s had
with the law. Bash points out that the new tattoo follows the same pattern and Tammy’s lawyer
realizes they are in trouble.
In the hall the guys tell Damien their case was dismissed. He makes a point to tell them he
would never tank a case, even one involving them.
Infeld shows Richard the door. Richard tells him Emily has decided to use a week’s vacation
by remaining in L.A. We learn that Richard was probably going after Franklin and Bash as a way
to get to Infeld.
The guys toast Pindar and Carmen and thank for their work.
Summary: When Jared’s father, Leonard Franklin attempts to buy the firm from
Stanton Infeld, Peter and Jared fight to save it. Peter also comes to the
rescue of an old high school friend who is running for governor and
wants to drop out of the race due to a scandal.
The episode begins with Stanton and
Jared’s father Leonard, having dinner together.
Stanton then tells Leonard that
although he appreciates Leonard’s offer
to buy his firm, he isn’t interested.
Leonard though reminds him that,
the decision isn’t entirely his to make.
Leonard also adds that, he just wants
the New York office, and shall convince
all the New York partners to vote in his
favor. Stanton though, feels his partners
will stay loyal to him, including Jared. At
home, Bash is handed a letter of delinquency
from the bar association, which
informs him that his status as a lawyer
has been suspended. Later, Bash is assuaged by Franklin and Emily.
He is reminded that the whole thing is a clerical error and shall be sorted out in a week.
Consequently he shall not be able to practice for a week. Later Bash and Franklin meet Tommy
Dale, who is running for the Governor and is a friend of Bash’s. Later he tells them that, he
wants to drop out of the race. He tells them the reason is personal. He then elaborates that he
doesn’t want to drag his family though hell, as a result of the campaigning. He then tells them,
his campaign manager Eli Palmer won’t let him drop out, and has threatened to sue him for
breach, if he does. The two then decide to talk to Eli. Later, Damien informs the two that Leonard
and the firms other partners are trying to buy them out. Stanton then elaborates, if Leonard
manages to get 16 of the 31 partners to vote in his favor then, he shall have his way.
The support staff as it turns out will also be sacked by Leonard, once he takes over. Stanton
tells the two that, there might still be two or three partners, who they can still manage to sway
their way, in order to prevent the takeover. The two then say that they will handle it. Later the
two meet Eli and try reasoning with him, but he is adamant and threatens to sue Tommy, if he
59

Franklin & Bash Episode Guide
decides to drop out. The two, along with Tommy then decide to take this matter to court, after
Tommy is assured by the two that the whole proceeding in court would be sealed up, and would
hence be hidden from the prying eyes of the media. Bash then tells Tommy that they would need
to know everything about why he is dropping out, so they can anticipate every move that their
opponent will make.
Tommy then tells the two that there is another woman, and its Eli’s wife. Jared later mimics
Leonard’s voice and calls up Roger, one of the partners in the firm, who can be swayed. Roger
then reveals to Jared, pretending to be Leonard that, he is leaning Leonard’s way. The two then
walk into Roger’s office and brand him a traitor. Roger then while defending himself, reveals to
the two that there is a file being kept, regarding their actions. Later in court, Bash is called in as
a witness by the opposing counsel in the Tommy issue, as he is no longer a lawyer. He is then
asked if he is aware as to why Tommy wants to drop out of the race. Bash then reluctantly reveals
that there was infidelity in Tommy’s marriage. Turns out, it was Tommy’s wife who cheated. She
had an affair with Eli’s wife, Bash elaborates.
Eli is visibly shocked to hear this. In the end the two manage to win the case. Later, they
confront Damien about the file but are told by Hanna that it was her idea; she also adds that she
deleted the file a month ago, as she was impressed with their quality of work. They then reveal
Roger’s intentions to Stanton. Later Tommy informs the two that Eli still wants Tommy to run,
and is threatening to reveal their wives dalliance to the media if he doesn’t. Tommy’s wife then
asks him to run, saying the voters shouldn’t get punished because of her indiscretion. Tommy
then reluctantly agrees to run, but adds that he doesn’t want to run with Eli as his campaign
manager and wants to get rid of him. The two then ask Tommy to get some dirt on Eli, so they
can work with that to get rid of him.
Later the two are given something to work with. They then meet up with Eli at a bar. Bash
then tells Eli that Tommy wants to run, but he doesn’t want Eli running his campaign. They then
show Eli an email which he had sent Tommy as a joke, but can be taken in a serious context. In
it Eli had suggested that all criminals who have served at least 2 years of prison sentence should
be released. Tommy as it turns out is threatening to go ahead with it, if Eli doesn’t resign. Later
Tommy thanks to two, for managing to convince Eli to step aside. Stanton later tells the two
that, the situation looks grim, but there one way that the firm could be saved. He then reveals to
them that, they were hired sort of as a ’poison pill’ so as to discourage anyone who was thinking
of buying the firm, this is also exactly the reason why the two were made partners, Stanton
elaborates.
The two are visibly hurt at this, but Stanton tries assuaging them by assuring them that he
thinks they are geniuses. He then adds ’but now you have to listen to my idea’. Later the two are
shown walking out of Stanton’s office. Franklin on his way out calls his father and leaves him
a voice message saying ’hey dad you are gonna want to return this call’. Hanna later finds out
that Damien has decided to vote in Stanton’s favor, but is surprised to find out that Franklin
and Bash are missing. She then finds out that, the two might have left, to cast their vote in
Leonard’s favor. The two meanwhile meet up with Leonard and the other partners, in the flight
leaving for New York. Leonard asks Franklin; how Stanton took the news of their decision to vote
in Leonard’s favor, in reply Jared simply says ’screw him’.
The two in the plane, then chat up one of the partners named Brock Daniels. The two in the
flight, later talk to all the other partners, who are planning to side Leonard in the vote. The two,
later mess around with the airline crew and try their patience. The two then continue behaving
obnoxiously through the whole duration of the flight, while the other partners are visibly bothered
by their behavior. Leonard then tells Brock, that he has no problems firing his son. Brock though
reminds him ’they are equity partners, they can’t be fired’. The two are meanwhile busy acting
crazy and enjoying themselves, while they are at it.
Later Stanton is informed that the plane with Franklin and Bash in it had to make an emergency
landing in Denver, in order to remove two equity partners of the firm, namely them. He
informs Damien, Hanna and his other loyalists of this with a smile on his face and also adds ’so
we won’t be sold’. Later, Hanna informs the two and the others who are celebrating the victory
that, Leonard has officially called off the takeover. Later, Stanton thanks the two for helping him
save the firm.
