In Sarawak the British Council
is the best conduit to accessing
information on studying in UK; it
has the complete list of universities,
colleges and schools all over
UK specializing in virtually every
profession, trade and skills. The
Council’s Education UK is the official
website to assist international
students to learn about all these
educational institutions and
facilities as well as useful tips about
particular places and courses. In
fact, over 1.8 million people all over
the world use the site each year to
learn about studying in UK.
For many who may be unfamiliar
with the UK, there are also over 3000
scholarships available in UK institutions
for students that can be found through
the website. Apart from learning about
these opportunities, the website also
informs about the cultural diversities of
the UK and prepares foreign students
for their arrival in the various regions
of UK. As one of the oldest and most
trusted site for education UK around
the world, the Council however,
does not actively promote individual
institutions over others in delivery
of information to all those who are
interested.
On 1 st July 2012 in Kuching,
the British Council will
be hosting a Workshop:
Getting Into Top UK Universities,
Medical/Dentistry Schools which
will feature renowned speakers
from UK giving useful lessons on
writing good personal statements
and preparations for interviews. Each
session is limited to 10 persons. A
nominal fee will be charged for those
interested. Similar workshops will
also be conducted in Kuala Lumpur
and Penang on 30 th June and Kota
Kinabalu on 1 st July.
