Kuching Specialist Hospital’s major
contributions towards the local
community are the setting up of two
charity clinic namely Klinik Waqaf
An-Nur (KWAN) at Satok and Bandar
Baru Samariang. Klinik Waqaf An-
Nur Satok also runs a dialysis centre
with minimal charge of RM90. The
clinics charge a minimum of RM5 for
services rendered by medical doctor
and prescription of medication.
Being part of KPJ Healthcare
Berhad, Kuching Specialist
Hospital strongly believes
that the concept of Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) must blend in
harmony and together be seen as
one. Since its inception in 2004,
Kuching Specialist Hospital has been
actively pursuing community health
development programmes as a way
of giving back to society.
KPJ Kuching Specialist has worked
alongside with both government
and non-governmental organisations
in promoting preventive healthcare

through its education programmes
and community services. Health
seminars, talks, exhibitions, school
visits and nationwide campaigns
were carried out throughout the year
to increase health awareness. These
programmes are intended to nurture
a healthy lifestyle and healthy living
from young age.
In Sarawak, KWAN is the main
community project extensively
undertaken together with Waqaf
An-Nur Corporation and Tabung
Baitulmal Negeri Sarawak. Kuching
Specialist Hospital’s direct contribution
to KWAN is managing the clinic
operation including provision of the
doctors and nurses. As at December
2011, a total of 36,600 patients of all
races have seeked treatment at Klinik
Waqaf An-Nur in Sarawak.
