Recipes 425 and 601 are based on more decomposed white peat and therefore 

have a higher water holding capacity. 

Since the use for these products is in pots, we work with standard, medium, and 

coarse structures (not the fine as we use for trays). 

Recipes can also be used for potted plants which have a short growing period and 

are relatively not so sensitive on roots. 

Recipes 425 and 601 are also available for clay as an additive to further increase 

water holding capacity (at an additional cost).

Best suited recipe is based on crop type, cultivation period, pot size, and irrigation 

method. 

Recipes 612 and 614 are specifically for Bromeliads (pH adjusted to 5.5 in 

H20, no trace elements and no NPK). 

Initially, recipe 612 was meant for smaller pot sizes; however, most growers 

prefer recipe 614 also for the smaller pots. 

It is not uncommon for Bromeliad growers to prefer an adjusted pH to either 

4.5 or 5.0 in H20 (since this is an exception from the standard, it comes at a 

higher price).
