At this meeting some of our “experts” will be manning a station where you can learn and try a tool or technique that you have been having trouble with. You can wander at your leisure and learn at any or all of the stations. We will bring in lunch (our treat) and this meeting will run from 9 until at least 2. There will be a short business meeting at 9 and the raffle will be held during our NEWS FROM THE DVD LIBRARY Look for new DVD’s by Brian McEvoy at the next meeting. AAW and SDWT membership is January through December, so it’s time to renew memberships. Please note that in order to join SDWT, you must be a member of AAW. This ensures that you and our club are protected by the AAW insurance policy. AAW membership (new or renewal) is easy to do at www.woodturner.org; on the left side, select Join AAW, then select either new or renewal, and follow the instructions. While you are at the AAW website, look around at the impressive member benefits. If you prefer, we can handle AAW membership for you. Visit our website www.sdwt.org, on the left side, select Membership, then Membership Application within the text. Annual dues are $73 which includes AAW membership. Name badges for new members (or replacement) $5. You can either pay at the next monthly meeting or send a check and application to San Diego Woodturners P.O. Box 507061 We are working on some new workshops for next year and I need some feedback from the SDWT members. We are discussing having a workshops by: Joe Fleming on coloring. It would be a 2 day workshop at his shop and would cover a number of different coloring techniques. It would be in late February or early March. Joe will be doing a demo on coloring at our February meeting. Mike Jackofsky will be teaching advanced workshops for our members. The 3-day advanced workshop will be March 12-14 . If you are interested in the workshop please contact Sally Ault at sallyault@cox.net or call 619- 415-5308. There is still an opening in the class. Michael Mocho will be our demonstrator in April and he will do 2 day workshops when he is here. Please check out his website at www.michaelmocho.com to see the work he does. He will help us with making boxes, cutting clean interiors, making accurate connections between the box and lid and finials, knobs, feet, spires and inlays.
