• This scholarship program is looking to celebrate<br />

motivated, passionate, college bound students<br />

nationwide. You may qualify for up to $25,000 /year<br />

for four years.<br />

• Applicants must be enrolling for full time study as first<br />

time freshman at a 4 year college or university<br />

• Applicants must be planning to major in one of the<br />

following: Science, Technology, Engineering, Math,<br />

Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or Design,<br />

and also those seeking a career in the automotive or<br />

related industries should apply. To apply visit the<br />

• This scholarship will be awarded to a student of good<br />

character who is in need of financial help and has the<br />

desire to further his or her education,<br />

• This scholarship will be used solely for payment of<br />

tuition and shall be paid directly to the college or<br />

university the recipients will attend.<br />

• In addition to financial need, the student who receives<br />

the award should demonstrate strong qualities in<br />

academics, leadership, citizenship and service to school<br />

and community<br />

Applicants must have demonstrated leadership in school<br />

activities, other than athletics.<br />

• Each applicant is to submit a one page essay on the<br />

topic “The Importance of Student Involvement in<br />

<strong>School</strong> Activities.”<br />

• The applicant must also provide a resume indicating<br />

leadership positions they have held and their<br />

contributions to their school while in these positions<br />

• In addition, two letters of recommendation are to be<br />

submitted, one each from the principal and an activity<br />

• Applications are screened by education professionals.<br />

Final selection is made by the Purple Aster Lodge<br />

Education Committee.<br />

• Applicants must be U.S. citizens of Italian decent (at<br />

least one Italian or Italian American grandparent)<br />

enrolled in an undergraduate program at a four year or<br />

two year accredited academic institution for the fall of<br />

2011 term.<br />

• Applicant must complete the application form and<br />

include two letters of recommendation from teachers,<br />

professors, or educational administrators.<br />

• Submit a typewritten original essay of 500-750 words<br />

about a personal experience which demonstrated or<br />

generated pride in your Italian heritage.<br />

• Seniors who will be playing golf at the college level can<br />

earn financial assistance with their education.<br />

• Applicants must write a brief biography of community<br />

and school activities, honors, awards and notable<br />

accomplishments.<br />

• Obtain two written teacher recommendations; one<br />

written recommendation from the Athletic Director or<br />

Golf Coach.<br />

• Write and attach a scholarship essay telling how golf<br />

has improved your academic and life skills. The essay<br />

should be typed, double-spaced, and submitted with<br />

the application packet. Your response should be no<br />

Bruce A. Black Memorial Scholarship - applicant must be an<br />

Eagle Scout from New Jersey with a 3.5 GPA based upon a<br />

4.0 scale.<br />

• Applicant’s career goals are in computer sciences.<br />

• Applicant must include a transcript after Jan 2st and<br />

SAT scores<br />

Frank D. Visceglia Memorial Scholarship - applicant must<br />

be an Eagle Scout<br />

• Preference given to Scouts whose Eagle Scout<br />

community service projects are related to the<br />

environment and/or the economy (a description of that<br />

project will be among the deciding factors in awarding<br />

the scholarship.<br />

• Preference will be given to Scouts whose career goals<br />

are in development related fields and/or who intend to<br />

major in related fields.<br />

Agricultural Scholarship<br />

• Application must include an essay of 250-500 words,<br />

typewritten to discuss general criteria as indicated in<br />

the “basis of selection statement above.<br />

• Application must include three (3) reference letters<br />

from an adult not related to the student: 1) Classroom<br />

teacher. 2) An adult other than classroom teacher who<br />

has been associated with the student in<br />

extracurricular/community activities. 3) A personal<br />

character reference.<br />

• Secondary school academic record – minimum 3.0 as of<br />

the most current report card<br />

• The applicant must be furthering their education in<br />

agriculture or a related field, at a school of higher<br />

learning.<br />

• The applicant must demonstrate the following<br />

characteristics, which were evident in Billy Consalo:<br />

Humanitarian, leadership, outstanding sportsman,<br />

integrity, desire and determination.<br />

• Applicant must be a graduating senior in good academic<br />

standing, maintaining a “C” average or better.<br />

• Financial need may be considered.<br />

• A letter is to be written by the student candidate<br />

explaining why they are interested in agriculture.<br />

• A transcript of the student’s grades and a photograph<br />

are to be submitted.<br />

• Please do not use staples when submitting your<br />

Club Scholarship<br />

The award recipient must:<br />

• Complete and return an application which may be<br />

downloaded from: www.njcts.org.<br />

• Be a citizen of New Jersey<br />

• Be a high school senior in a NJ private or public school<br />

• Be planning to attend a college or trade school on a part<br />

time or full time basis.<br />

• Have a diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome<br />

• Provide a record of grades in high school<br />

• Submit an essay of one to two pages, typed, double<br />

space, describing how Tourette Syndrome has played a<br />

part in your life. You may also submit a CD cassette,<br />

DVD or videos displaying your talent(s) (e.g. musical,<br />

slide of works of art, sports) of about five minutes in<br />

length.<br />

• Winner will be selected based upon achievement,<br />

academic accomplishments, and presentation.<br />

• Applicant must be a member of the football team for a<br />

minimum of two years and have been an active<br />

member during their senior year.<br />

• Applicants must write a letter to the Football Booster<br />

Club, explaining briefly the influence that the <strong>Absegami</strong><br />

Football Program has had on their lives and how it will<br />

help with future endeavors.<br />

• List all awards the player received including MVP<br />

weekly, coach’s awards, CAL and Press awards.<br />

• Provide transcripts from guidance department with<br />

GPA and class ranking.<br />

• List all scholarships you have already received.<br />

• Recipients can pursue a vocational/technical career or a<br />

2/4 year degree from any accredited<br />

schools/colleges/universities in the United States,<br />

• All applicants will be evaluated based on their<br />

educational experience; community involvement and<br />

activities; demonstrated leadership as indicated in the<br />

application materials; writing samples; academic<br />

transcripts; recommendations; and need as determined<br />

using the Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free<br />

Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and /or any<br />

hardship defined on the scholarship application.<br />

• Applicant must complete an application packet and<br />

write a 500 word essay on one of the following<br />

questions: 1) First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move”<br />

campaign against childhood obesity has been a<br />

tremendous success. Describe a campaign focused on<br />

improving the health of children and their families in<br />

your community. 2) Many school officials have no<br />

obligation to provide for the educational needs of<br />

students expelled from a general education program.<br />

How would you suggest a student who is expelled from<br />

school for one academic year, because he/she brought<br />

a gun to school, spend that year<br />

• Applicant must have a minimum undergraduate GPA<br />

Of 2.0. The choice of major is open.<br />

• These awards are available to foster/adopted high<br />

school seniors who are or have been under the care of<br />

the Division of Youth and Family Services.<br />

• You may apply for more than one scholarship grant.<br />

• To be eligible, candidates must currently be a NJ high<br />

school senior, have an established diagnosis of Autism,<br />

Asperger's syndrome, or PDD-NOS and plan on pursuing<br />

a post-secondary education at a college, university,<br />

technical, trade, or vocational school level.<br />

• Academic achievement, meaningful community<br />

volunteerism, participation in extra-curricular activities<br />

and financial needs will all be considered when<br />

choosing a recipient for this scholarship. Student need<br />

not be near the top of their class to be considered. All<br />

who are eligible are encouraged to apply.<br />

• Applicants must complete an application and write a<br />

500 word , double spaced essay on one of two topics:<br />

1) As you prepare to graduate from high school and<br />

further your education, what do you feel you have<br />

contributed to your school and its’ community that<br />

you would like to be remembered for<br />

2) Imagine yourself entering the job market based on<br />

today’s economy. What career path will you<br />

choose, why, and who or what inspired you to do<br />

so<br />

The essay will be judged by the Board of Directors<br />

based on clarity, content, and originality. All applicants’<br />

names will be kept confidential, and for this reason we<br />

request that the student/applicant NOT put his/her<br />

name on the essay pages.<br />
